We already have a discussion on steam and I wanted to know how can I send you my DXdiag file?
CPU gets way yoo hot.
Dont see why this is splash damages issue, its probably poorly optimized but if you are running hot on this game get a better cooler. What chip are you running
When the main menu uses 90% of an i7 3770k @ 3.4gHz (note that i7 CPUs have Hyper-Threating enabled) which has 8 logical cores, then I am sorry but this is Splash Damage problem. This isn’t just not well optimized. This seems like it is doing something in the background that it should not do.
Serious question, does it mine Bitcoins in the background or something?
I’m running a 4690k sitting on about 60 degrees, 60% usage with several chrome tabs and league open in the background. Are you running anything in the background? Did you reseat your cooler properly, using a dab of thermal paste the size of an uncooked grain of rice.
Also, bitcoin mining on cpu’s hasn’t been profitable for over a year now.
I am monitoring the game using resmon. That 90% is just the game. Nothing else.
I should note that those are spike values, and watching the per logical core usage, those spikes are on the cores 1 through 7 while at the same time core 0 has almost no usage.
Once this spike is over (which seem to happen frequently, about every 5-10 seconds), the cores 1-7 go back to usage values of 0~10% while core 0 goes back to 80~100% depending on other background activity on my system. The spikes last about 2 seconds. These frequent spikes will of course heat up the CPU over time. It never really gets hot, but my fan runs at fairly low RPM if the CPU stays below ~40% for most of the time. With that low RPM it is almost silent while it becomes fairly noticeable if it actually has to work.
72 threads running on the main menu doesn’t seem right. That is the main .exe:
ShooterGame-Win32-Shipping.exe
On top of that 12 threads by a second spawned process called CoherentUI_Host.exe
Windows itself uses ~140 threads on my system, Guild Wars 2 ingame uses 44.
There is some weird stuff going on with the Dirty Bomb client.
Also, Bitcoin mining on a single CPU isn’t profitable, but when you have a playerbase and use all of their spare ressources to mine, it suddenly becomes.
I was simply saying that mining on peoples gpus would be more beneficial. But I agree that it could be optimized better.
Sure you dont have utorrent mining in the background?
Na man, it turns out the game is just badly optimized. I went a bought a new motherboard the other day (went from a 970 extreme4 to a Sabertooth 990fx) and it STILL has issues. The heat issue was a combination of the other mobo and the game, but NOW it has a weird STUTTER that happens after playing a match for a while. It locks in between 42-56 fps and it stutters HORRIBLY! NOW I know it isn’t a system issue because I reinstalled windows, played every game from Metro: Last Light to Dark Souls 2 and NO hiccups. CPU temp with new mobo maxes at 40 for this game, any other game anywhere from 33-37.
