couple of code questions

hi i was just wandering if anyone can tell where i can remove the overheat from the sten.

Also where can i change the names of the weapons on the limbo screen.

any help would be great

well the names on the limbo menu may be images. it’ll all be in cg_limbopanel.c
i’m sure the overheating will be in the game dll. i’m not sure about et weapons though, i removed them all when i started creating my mod. :confused:

In bg_misc you’ll see this:

//	MAX				USES	MAX		START	START  RELOAD	FIRE			NEXT	HEAT,	COOL,	MOD,	...
	//	AMMO			AMT.	CLIP	AMMO	CLIP	TIME	DELAY			SHOT

All you need to do is change the sten values for the third-last and second-last to 0.

Also in bg_misc.c, you can change the weapon names by changing their entity name: IF YOU CHANGE A NAME HERE YOU MUST EDIT ANIMATIONS/SCRIPTS/HUMAN_BASE.SCRIPT

almost a year later…

i did but now i get this “bg_indexforstring: unknown token

error

when i change “thomson” into M4!! plz help

can someone tell me exactly how to change weapon names

  1. you will need to match cases ( eg . if you have A in source put there A , not a) , i think it is needed , surely in source , so most probably threre too …
  2. there will be normally WP_THOMPSON three times under those things , be sure that you will replace that if you changed WP_THOMPSON
  3. I really dont know what is bad :smiley:
