I though hurting someone and then someone else killing them already counted as “Combat Damage” or whatever it was called
it’s being counted as assist and that is IF someone else kills him ( and i believe that only counts if he gets killed some short amount of time after you deal damage or before he get healed )
repairing and destroying EV,generators, or ramp can be exploited
killing and reviving can be exploited
continuously damaging enemy w/o killing him while in Auras healing station range can be exploited
etc…
Yep, this is to stop exploiting as @Armuhsin pointed out. The player must be killed a short period after you damage them and then you will get the assist + combat damage bonus.
I like the way exp gain is balanced in matches right now, and personally don’t wish to see it changed… but that’s just me. 
It should only count if the player is killed before being healed, otherwise you didn’t really accomplish much.
Loads of things can be easily exploited, that’s a really shitty excuse to not include something in the game.
Maybe like, CoD’s idea. Some assists count as kills but of course in Dirty Bomb it doesn’t require some kind of killstreak reward.
