couldnt read .pcx

hi,

i have reinstalled my system and took care that i have all files i need copied on CD. unfortunately i considered the pcx file as unimportant (sry im still a noob) and now its gone. the bad thing is that i cant bsp my map im working on now. what must i do ?

i also tried to find that .pcx file in the worldspawn-keys, but all my descriptions in radiant are gone. hmpf…so how can i get these back ?

Do you still have the easygen terrain file?
You should try to export first from easygen if you dan’t have the pcx anymore.

the easygen file is gone too. cant i create one by myself or tell the compiler somhow that it dont need to load the .pcx file ? and if not, how can i create one, or make my map somehow work. in the badest case id have to map the terrain by myself, or make some faketerrain with easygen again i guess. but the question is if this would work, since i dont know what exactly the .pcx file is for.

and the other problem i have is that all my radiant-entity-descriptions are gone. how can i get these back in radiant ? im using radiant 1.4 for mapbuilt.

You can delete the key from the func_group that your terrain is. Then tho you need to do all the blendings manually and probably change shaders a little. I never used pcx for my terrains, so I don’t know how all exactly works. I always do blendings manually.

yeah, big thanks :slight_smile: it is working now. i searched for some keys in the worldspawn, but there were (additionaly to the fact that they are not located there) no descriptions. so the descriptions, those which tell you which keys and values and purpose an entity has, how do i get them in the radiant ? must i somehow do something to the entities.def-folder ? i once had them, but i cant remember how ive done this :confused:

edit: ah. problem solved, i forgot to open the windows, because they are all hided at the beginning :slight_smile:
