Couldn't play the Beta...

(0ddball) #1

I finally received a key, installed the game but couldn’t play it due to various crashes or freezes during map loading (“loading” circling) , most of them during map loading.
I could do the tutorial but only after lowering my settings to the lowest.
I only once could enter in a MP game (where I was the only player !) but crashed at the end of round.
The few messages (when there was a message) that I saw were all about memory (RAM or video).

My specs are:

OS: Windows 7 32 bits.
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 @ 2.66 Ghz
GPU: Nvidia Geforce GTX 460,
RAM: 4 Gb

With regards to the messages, I suspect that DB, in its current state (?), can not be played unless there’s more than 4 Gb RAM installed on the PC.
I hope this will not still be the case for the official version…

4GB of ram (yes, its GB not Gb, that would be gigaBITS) is not enough to run dirty bomb smoothly. A core 2 duo is also going to struggle as db isnt really that optimised and doesn’t has mad high cpu usage on all cpus, my overclocked 4690k is hitting some pretty high usage numbers so the E6750 will certainly struggle

“db isnt really that optimised”
…Nice euphemism !

Anyway, my specs are nonetheless closer to the official recommended specs than to the minimum ones…
4GB (sorry for the faulty case, your Honor !), not enough ?!? :o
I can play several others games far more demanding than DB (especially on the graphic side) without any problem.
BTW when I see the long list of threads in this forum, complaining about so many bugs and crashes (most of them without any reply), I think that I’ll wisely give up the try and go back to some others safe bets… B)

make sure your graphics drivers are updated, that gpu may be a little weak as well

(0ddball) #5

…However this is precisely the GPU which is mentionned in the recommended specs ! :*

(0ddball) #6

BTW, I’ve been playing a lot of F2P recently (Warface, World of Planes/tanks, TF2, Ghost Recon Phantoms, WarThunder and Loadout) and that’s the first time that I see such a buggy demanding game (which is furthermore not that particularly graphically amazing compared to Warface, for instance).
Hope this “demand” will not reduce to much the number of DB’s players… o:)

(Nail) #7

this beta is not a “game”, it’s a test of different parts of gaming mechanics to be incorporated into a game and will be optimized further

sorry, meant CPU

What motherboard do you have?
You could find a more powerful processor for the same CPU socket (maybe) otherwise you’d have to get a new mobo+cpu

(0ddball) #10

ASUS P5K Deluxe.

Buying and installing a new CPU just in order to play one F2P game ? No way, Sir !

(TheNinth) #11

:( I’m afraid it’s your limiting factor here.

(0ddball) #12

I’m afraid too…But anyway it won’t kill me !

(0ddball) #13

Tryed the new “Back for Good” DB : => “ran out of video memory”…
I give up now…

Have fun, mates !

Perhaps will I try it again in a few monthes in case SD finally manages to fix or “optimize” DB.

(0ddball) #14

New try today: “Ran out of video memory ! Exiting…” in the training hub after 3 seconds, with “low” settings.

reminder: my GPU is a GTX460 with 1GB memory (512 MB on the Recommended System Requirement ) !

I put a ticket on the DB Support Center, gave them my logs and dxdiag files and guess what ?..
Since the last update, DB WORKS NOW FOR ME AND MY OLD RIG !!!
I even managed to put it on med settings without problem !

So: CONGRATULATIONS TO THE DB SUPPORT !!!

PS: I also want to underline the courtesy and the politeness of the mails that I received from M. GM Radrodo, Nexon America. Thanks to him/her !
