Win10 and UE3 isn’t really a good mix. If you knew about this thread or [url=“https://superuser.com/questions/1172843/high-dpc-latency-windows-10-unable-to-fix”]this thread, you would have had a slight clue. Also, a lot of players are now experiencing “micro freezes” and this is just the tip of the iceberg. And it happens even if you’re using Win7, 8 or 10… coincidence?

We can’t fix Win10; we can’t fix Dirty Bomb UE3, but surely, we can tell Win10 to drop all DPC stacks coming from DB at the cost of a frame/audio skip. The skip is not as critical and is only tolerable in playing DB, but it won’t be as effective if the intended solution is for audio/video recording. The idea is, a graphical overlay displaying count down number to a “skip” is imminent which will warn the user of the coming DPC stacking reset. This will flash a warning on the screen when it is about to happen. IF a “skip” does happen, the only thing a player experiences is a sudden teleport or click or cut in audio as the interrupt stack is now reset. Unlike repeated teleporting, stuttering and cracking audio, the “once on occasion” approach is a good compromise. The stack limit can be adjusted manually via text editor in an initialisation file.

D9D claims it’s better to just wind back the os to Win7. His take on the matter is that ASUS has a faulty Win10 driver as his investigation came from this thread. After all, it’s what SD recommended, right? But still, imo, the nature of the beast hasn’t been addressed with that solution and the risk of Win7 having faulty drivers
is also a possibility, and given that we’re operating a hardware platform after Win10 got introduced, chances are, Win7 64BitPro will be in similar execution of DPC stacking when it comes to playing DB.

Further, it’s not only DB that has this issue. Even NVidia owners also experience DPC stacking on other games.

he’s combat casualty. He got banned for having latencymon.exe, resmon.exe and shootergame_win32_shipping.exe all running at the same time while scoring by the thousands because he’s reviving, healing and killing left right and centre.

poor guy plays on weekends only while working a fix.

EDIT: He also installed AMD/ATI Crimson 17.3.3 graphic driver and EAC doesn’t like unauthorised driver updates that enables Phoenix to become invincible because no one else plays medic.

Hey all!

First off, thanks for making this thread. It’s a real eye-opener. While it has been a very busy time here at SD, that should impact you guys as little as possible so I’ll do my best to be more active in the forums and make sure as many of your questions are answered timely to the best of our ability as possible.

That being said, here is a quick rundown of the issues you raised in the OP:

They let us believe for months that something would happen to special edition gen 1 cards, just to casually say on reddit, after someone pushed for an answer, that they never had plans to do something.

I covered this in the reply on reddit. I wasn’t aware that this had been stated and when given a link I was very surprised to see it. There must have been some crossed wires which led to that info being shared. Never-the-less this could have been handled in a more efficient manner.

People were speculating over Turtle just to hear after ages, that they currently not working on him at all.

As other posters have said hype is a good thing and having excitement over new features and content is great! The problem with Turtle is that it got to the point where players thought we’d made an official statement saying that Turtle was due to be released when this is not the case. In order to try and prevent that from getting out of hand, we decided to step in and set correct expectations. He is a Merc we want to get out and we’re currently looking for animators and artists to help in this.

XP in ranked is bugged (will we get the XP on which we missed out during the bug or not). When will it be fixed?

This will be fixed in an update after Dockyard is released, along with a load of other bugfixes. Unfortunately players will not be granted XP they’ve missed out on due to the bug as we’re unable to track it.

What happened to the revamped crafting system that was promised after the last “improvement” to the crafting system?

This is something which will happen, but instead of rolling back to a system which had it’s own problems, we want to do a much bigger update. What that is we cannot say yet as the details are still being worked out.

I admit it has been a long time since we made that statement and it’s still going to be a while until changes come into effect, but we want to make sure we get it right and release a permanent, long-lasting system.

Lot of people report freezes and the general performance of the game seems to diminish.

We take performance very serious and want to make improvements anywhere possible. We are working on ways to achieve this at the moment and we urge anyone having these issues to send a support ticket to us so we can either try and resolve your issues or use the information you provide in future updates.

Again I’d like to say thank you for making this thread and apologise for the recent lack of communication. While we always try to talk about the most relevant discussion points in our weekly videos, we know that communication needs to stretch further than that and I will do my best to fill that void.

While I agree that communication on forums doesn’t currently exist, I believe SD are actually reading most of the stuff. But with the whole hiring new people thing and publishing on their own, they are probably just busy.

Thanks for the reply shoe., I wish game devs spent more time on their own forums than reddit tbh. Not just Splash Damage but other games too. I disagree with their karma system - too much horde/zerg opinions - and general pretence.

Still excited for Turtle and another crafting update. Even though players are no longer as hyped for the merc (i.e. lots of time since first mentions), I’m sure most of us still look forward to his eventual release in the near or distant future.

New maps, not required, almost every map atm already sucks, better off fixing and sticking with the current amount of maps.
More mercs, not required.
More weapons (which some people want for some reason), also not required and sd has already shown to know fuck all about balance in their own game so more weapons would mean even more retarded op shit.

Better off increasing performance of the game, fixing bugs, getting decent servers and actually releasing the game.

So wait if turtle was already released in alpha why do they need an animator?was his animation that broken that he needs to be built from ground up or do they plan on replacing the sheild. Aimee was removed as well from alpha but was re released decades ago. Though they didnt have to do anything cosmetic to her snitch from 3rd eye

Serious question i was asking dont know why he was removed to begin with from alpha (as i didnt even know this game existed in alpha which sucks cux i would have jumped on the chance to play) And dont know mutch about game developement

No, he was never in the game. It’s idiotic that he’s not in by now, nearly 2 years after open beta release. He was in the Scrubs trailer, constantly hyped and never denied until recently.

Also waiting to redo the crafting and doing it all at once (and not altering it) was exactly why people fucking left the game. People only asked for small changes in costs/crafting etc, not a complete overhaul. Glad we waited so long after that video 7 months ago, just to find this out now.

(last nerf didnt do shit, its not even about it being overpowered but lacking realistic counter play), why is nothing being done with aura station ? She feels mandatory on some maps while being useless on others (aside that its a lot better at defense), why redeyes smoke still last so long ? Why are burst rifles still the best guns in the game ? And tons more.

The cherry on top, fletcher is more bugged now than how he was a year ago, how the fuck is that even possible, when all SD is doing is bug fixing, i honestly do not understand i really dont.

There is no new content and aside from dockyard that i seen over a year ago there isnt even any new content on the horizon (outside of another map that we will see by the end of 2018).

Loadouts are still total horseshit, core issues arent getting fixed (okay, optimization is better, i will give SD that), there are no new content, hit detection is still a mess, audio is still a mess, kira laser lacks animations/sound cues etc

In like a year nothing really changed, its fucking band aids all around without solving any problems, we just hear from time to time how they will fix shit “at some point” (like weapon switching being full of bandaids because its buggy as fuck).

Its hard to be optimistic when there are almost 0 insight from developers, we just know that they are working on 2 maps and one of them is fucking years old, nothing more, everything is under “maybe someday”.

I wouldnt be so salty if i didnt actually love the game but every time when i get back after taking a long break i remember why i took the break in the first place, because almost nothing changes, nothing.

I know its not your fault shoe and i actually think that you are one of a few people in SD i think is doing a fine job but at this point i would rather hear that DB servers will go permanently offline instead of being disappointed every time i give it another chance ;(.

Ditto. I’m getting stuck on walls and edges all the time again. Little bugs that were fixed or said to have been fixed showing up again. Server browser is a lottery.
