Could not authenticate all peers

(Kaotik) #1

Hi.

I am having a problem with the game since i first purchased it. On every single map/round/whatever that i play i get a screen freeze (server stops responding), and after a while it crashes to the main menu with the error: “Could not authenticate all peers”

This error sometimes happens right in the beginning of the round, or randomly in the middle of it, or when maps change.

Has anybody got a clue or idea what could be causing this, as i have not been able to find a resolution online for this. :frowning:

Any help would be appreciated. Even if its just to locate the cause of my issue.

Thanks :frowning:

Im not sure if this is any help or even the same problem, but i had a bug where i kept getting disconnected for “Could not authenticate user” and Mumble overlay was causing it so i turned that off.

Hmmm, im using teamspeak 3… but not the ingame overlay, so i dont know if teamspeak would cause this type of issue?

I don’t think so, Maybe go through each program running at the same time as brink and closing them to see if it works.

Again this is what i done and found mumble causing me problems, But my problem is probably different to yours.

Also try the usual Verify game cache in steam.

the nature of the error somehow tells me its something which is not being verified when im on a server…but i cant be sure because there is so little info on this error. i doubt its a program…because this will only happen online.

ive done the verify integrity thing, to no avail :/…

I’ve had this issue when running Brink on multiple PCs on a LAN using a comcast cable connection. Switching one pc to another connection seems to resolve the issue when only two PCs are running it. Testing now with two on the alternate connection and one on the cable connection.

hmm…im not running that type of set up. My setup consist of the following: I have a box on a pole on the roof of my house which has a receiver or something inside it. That receiver is connected to a small router type thing in my room with a network cable, and another network cable runs fro that small router to my pc… Its some type of broadband connection. But i dont see how this can be the cause of my issue

that’s a pretty poor connection, not sure if it will affect the game, but any programs running in the background, especially auto updaters could be breaking your connection to Steam

That connection is average to good in South Africa… so don’t hate on us.

We have plenty guys in the clan playing fine with 3G (even worse) and 384k lines so line speed not being the issue here.

am starting to wonder if its not my AV…(Avast 5), but i doubt it, as im not getting this problem in other games like Black Ops

(Nail) #14

try playing with it off ?

will give it a shot and report feedback. I really want to narrow the cause of this issue down, because as far as it seems, not many people get this error ><
