Cosmetics and Loadouts

Today I upgraded my first loadout to silver just to take a look at the differences. The problem I found is that, as expected, the RNG meant that I didn’t get the combination of traits I might have liked. The skin, however, was nice enough that I’d like to use it, just to have something a bit different. Therein lies the issue for me. I’m not really concerned about the RNG aspect and the concept of loadouts - but mixing in the cosmetic aspect is a little restricting.

Basically, it’d be nice to have separate cosmetics that can be equipped alongside/on top of the loadout, or allow us to merge cards so that you don’t have to pick between the cosmetic look you want and the combination of weapons/traits you like. This said, I do understand the game needs some long term things for people to work on, but I just don’t feel that blowing a few weeks of credits trading up cards and still not getting one you want/will use isn’t encouraging or fun.

I’ve been a long time proponent of removing the cosmetics from the cards and making your weapons/augments something that you can somewhat easily get with time played and not be tied to purchases. Removes pay2win arguments and it’s in-line with time requirements to unlock items that you use in other non-f2p FPS titles (BF and CoD for example). Or if they feel like they have to add something in then add in the cricket bat as a small perk of stepping up to the higher tier skins but leave all the weapons/augments at the bronze level.
