1.Is it possible to decompile a COD/COD2/COD4 bsp with q3map2?
2.Is it possible to change the bsp ID (version) by editing the map with an editor? We get some strange messages like: bsp is version 59, not 47 or bsp is version 4, not 47. COD2 seems to be version 4 and COD1 59.
You could try changing magic numbers and whatnot if you actually know them, but there’s a serious risk that you bump into internal differences between BSP versions.
I’m pretty sure that’s actually the main thing stopping you: possible format incompatibilities.
I made a version of Q3Map2 that could partially decompile COD2 maps, but I’m not sure where it is.
I think you can use the -dump command or -bspdump (or something) to get the chunk info.

please don’t say your converting Carentan… xD and btw decompiling a map from another game is illegal, says so in license in most games including CoD.
bascially thought its decompile > filter entities > filter models > select all > save as > open up that other map, put all et related entities in, lights etc, then compile with q3map2 and make sure you have -game et
