Conversion of quake3 maps to run in quake2

Are there any utilities for converting a quake3 bsp file into a bsp format that would run in quake2?

Alternatively are there utilities to convert a quake3 .map file into a format that can then be compiled into a quake2 .bsp file?

I use Radiant to convert geomatry…
Open the map you want to convert, remove all necessary entities, and save as a “.xmap”
close radiant
Open radiant in Half-life (or QuakeII) mode, and open the .xmap, then save as .map
I used this technique to allow me to play with one of WildWest maps in the Torque engine.

Can’t remember how well the textures convert (shaders whos name is different from the actual texture name will be a problem)
But the above should get you started :slight_smile:
