Or they could have anchors?
Conversation with gamer at work.....
The footage really hammers home my desire to see Casey win - her “journey” just seems more … was indeed excellent.
haha, lol at the thread tags
Anyway, thanks for the info laurabartle.
Seriously, what is that bot talking about?!
I think the marketing with be successful. Bethesda is a marketing beast. They love their money you know. But what’s going to happen is the people who are excited about it will get it on day one. And reviews are going to be something like 99/100 or 10 out of 10. Amazon.com reviews are where a lot of people check for info and if the game is quality then people will come across the great reviews and consider buying it. Also if Brink is a game people buy and don’t sell back then it’s inherent value will stay high. People will buy it at full price in order to get in on the hot thing. MW:2 and Reach both stayed at least at the 50 mark for an extended period of time even used.
Even if it’s delayed… Brink will have it’s success. The ratings by critics and the retention of the game by diehard fans will carry it through. Much like the success of battlefield series. People who enjoyed the online play of BC2 never sold their copies thus retaining the value of the game for an extended period of time.
Even if brink as a new IP had that kind of success. It would be doing well.
I was talking with a fellow gamer at work about upcoming PC titles and I asked him if he was going to buy Brink.
Seriously, can you believe that? I guess there are some people that live under a rock.
I don’t know how you define a gamer or where you work so I don’t see how this is supposed to shock or surprise me. Most people I talk to who are into video games require that I explain Brink to them (which I happily do). Unreleased games are very rarely the topic of casual conversation. A vast majority of discussion on unreleased games are armchair developers demanding/suggesting/whining/boycotting and comparing it to an already released game of a similar genre. The better threads are people asking valid questions based on new press and videos. But you can’t expect everyone out in the world who has played a video game once to be on top of that for one specific unreleased game.
Nothing elitist at all about that.
Not really, as long as you aren’t worried about the transit time. Just put a propeller underwater, and aim it in the opposite direction of where you want to go.
You did read the link and see that the pictured ship is the last remaining sail-powered oil tanker in the world, yes?
Some guys, always obsessed with the size of their ship…
Well, it’s still nice to know people play something (or will play something) other than World of Warcraft.

I just figured it was a post from you and therefore wasn’t relevant
Interestingly i am currently doing a marketing assignment at University and i chose to do it on Brink (saves research time when youve already done it). Was surprised to find out that 136 different games will be released between now and brinks release date…ridiculous eh. So i dont blame brink for waiting, hype should be built up from end of april/start of may. A blitz of ads and coverage would get everyone talking about it, and the close proximity of 2-3 weeks would get keep everyones attention yet be just long enough to allow word of mouth to spread. Otherwise you get the customers attention, then another game takes their attention while they are waiting for release and in the end they dont buy brink.
Since it is floating, and doesn’t have a way of transporting itself across the ocean… what holds it into place? Sea current/waves and wind would slam it into a body of land eventually right…?
Unless… GASP! it’s secretly just the very top of an even bigger sunken city part of a lost content! DUN DUN DUNNNN! The Starting Point of “Brink 2: A Fathom Deep”(working title)
its have “ways to transport itself”, but no purposes[at game moments]for it.
similar feats had chopper/aircrafts FFCS software.
Any sort of land.
Even if all of the polar icecaps melted etc., there is still not enough water to cover the entire planet. I forget the estimates, but I believe the overall sea level would rise somewhere around 200-250 feet. Sucks for the Dutch and for me, living in Florida (though I’m about 20 minutes from the highest point in the state.)
Significant portions of all of the continents would still be above water. Even volcanic islands in the Pacific (Hawaii) would still be above the waves, though the populated areas would all be submerged.

You just described the plot of “Bioshock”.
Most of my clanmates online are familiar with Brink and have been since it was announced. However I from time to time run into one or two of them that aren’t familiar with it and generally are just clueless about it.
HAHA did I? Honestly I never played Bioshock, just tv trailers… I guess it was a good idea after all… too bad its already been done
… Ok how about something with pirate raiders that bump into the the Arc as it floats adrift with out anchors?..

Pirates attack, the population of the arc sease there fude and unite, all is right in the world again.
