strafe right- right arrow

secondary fire- mouse 2
use- enter
reload- shift
sprint- end
binoc zoom- delete
get down on belly thing- kp 2
jump- kp 0

thats the setup i used when playing my first fps, mohaa. i cant use anything else.

My mate who is so BAD:-
Arrow Keys- up, down, left, right
Ill stop there shall i

 are you associating using the arrow keys with being bad? ill play you anytime you want.

(TsN|WaCKSteVeN|GLB) #31

esdf movement
a - reload
w&r - lean
t - activate/use
v - prone
x - quick chat
c - crouch
b - binocs

(=ABS= SparhawK) #32

arrow key up:- Up
arrow key down:- Down
arrow key left:- Left
arrow key right:- Right

numpad 1/end:- Jump
numpad 0/ins:- Crouch
Crouch & double tap forward:- Lie Down
Shift:- Sprint
Enter:- Reload

Press mouse middle button then arrow key left:- Lean Left
Press mouse middle button then arrow key right:- Lean Right

L:- Command Map
B:- Binoculars

Delete Key (above arrow keys) :- Main weapon
End Key (above arrow keys) :- Special weapon/equipment 1
Page down (above arrow keys) :- Special weapon/equipment 2
Numpad 7/Home :- Special weapon/equipment 3
Numpad 4 :- Grenades

Mouse:-
Scroll up:- Next Weapon (hardly used)
Scroll Down:- Down Weapon (hardly used)
Left Mouse:- Fire
Right mouse:- Alt Fire
Mouse button 3 (Press Wheel):- Action

Everyone I have ever played who uses wasd has to look down everynow and then because they have lost their keys, the above settings have the movement keys in isolation and everything else arrayed around.

Do not use chat, only in emergency

Cowardice in a computer game sucks.
Always forward never stop moving.
Standing in a big circle having orgy of bags makes me laugh.

(weasel) #33

Am I the only one that uses numpad movement?

Forward - 8
Backward - 2
Strafe left - 4
Strafe right -6
Jump (and forcetapout) - 7
Adjust sensitivity - 9
Toggle cg_wolfparticles - 3
Crouch - <period>
Prone - 0
Sprint - enter
Reload - pagedown
Zoom - mouse3
Activate - mouse4
Command map - mouse5

Also, why do most of you have seperate binds for leaning? Holding activate and using the strate keys lets you lean, so you can bind those keys to something else.

(Majin) #34

I use seperate binds for leaning because if I use +activate i often push people, open doors, switch weapons and such when I try to lean.

Now, having the binds for leaning right by your movement keys seems kinda silly though.

(gonzoboi) #35

here are my weird keys:

UP - forward
DOWN - back
LEFT - move left
RIGHT - move right
RightCtrl - crouch
_ (the one above right AltGr) - prone
ç (the one above right shift) - sprint
ENTER - activate
Keypad 0 - reload
Keypad 4 - knife
Keypad 1 - pistol
Keypad 2 - smg / rifle
Keypad . - grenade
Keypad 3 - airstrike / pliers / smoke nade
Keypad 6 - ammo / dynamite / satchel
Keypad 9 - binocs. / landmine

MOUSE1 - fire
MOUSE2 - jump
MOUSE3 (wheel) - alt. fire

Thats it, i use no WASD-style keystrokes and i fact i never used that since i had a Spectrum. And no, I don’t use lean. Apart from that, i have an ancient mechanical IBM keyboard with no Windows keys (thank God) and my RightShit key gets stuck whenever i press it so i can’t use it. Am i weird? yes, indeed :drink:

(Eyes of Texas) #36

Did you ever think that maybe these people play with the mouse in their LEFT hand?

(Englander) #37

I use the mouse in the right hand, I just slide the keyboard to the left to use the arrow keys and to feel more comfortable.

My keyboard is just a standard regular one walbanger,it cost me £3 and the right arrow key pops out from time to time with all the hammer its taken from a couple of years on RTCW and now ET,when it pops out it usually cost me my life but I dont care,I should buy a new one but I dont like to part with this one

(Vetinari) #39

err… inverted mouse is “move back -> look up, move fwd -> look down”? … if yes: then I do
… played too much descent ages ago

v57!

I have a sneaking suspicion that playing with up meaning up and down meaning down might actually be easier. If only I could retrain my poor inverted brain.

(And I think the other sort of inverted mouse - with its little leggies in the air - is technically a trackball, and I didnt mean that at all)

(Go on, someone tell me they play with a trackball now…)
