Controller support

(homesickKnuckle) #1

Is there any controller support? and if so, can it be turned off?

(Nail) #2

yes, yes

(homesickKnuckle) #3

Oh awesome, thank you for responding Nall. I have a physical disability that doesn’t allow me to use a keyboard and only parts of a controller. I have to utilize a program called Xpadder to bind everything on the keyboard to something i can manage on the controller. Again thank you for letting me know, looking forward to getting a beta invite and give this game a shot.

(Nail) #4

there is a good chance controller support will be in menu with everything config
I may be talking out my butt though, just going on what was said early days in Alpha

(MissMurder) #5

Ah apologies @homesickKnuckle actually right now we do not have plans for controller support.

(Nail) #6

it can be done, honest

(MissMurder) #7

Where there’s a will there’s a way I suppose.

(Nail) #8

that’s straight from Dirty Bomb Facebox page

(Nail) #9

while controllers may not be “officially supported” SD is committed to universal access, there’s already configs on the Warchest forums

@MissMurder is only allowed to state “official” responses

me, not so much

hmm i have a joystick for flight games - i have to unplug it when playing this game or else i’m in a constant spin

(CannibalHoliday) #11

Weird. I have both my flight stick and my controller plugged in and it doesn’t affect the game. Is your throttle centered or zeroed?

@homesickKnuckle , did you get a key yet? @MissMurder I have a spare key. Can I share it with them?

(Nail) #12

this was a video of a guy playing on a controller with his feet

So can i use a xbox controller and how

(Amerika) #15

I setup DB to work with a Steam controller not long ago. Once you get the settings right and enable to gyro for assisting with aiming it’s pretty good compared to using an analog stick. And it has more buttons to bind things to as well.

So a Steam controller might not be a bad investment for you and games like this @homesickKnuckle.

I feel this is related
Defeats Ornstein and Smough with a Steering Wheel

(Sir_Slam) #17

Good lord have mercy I couldn’t imagine trying to play DB with a controller. That just sounds painful. Whatever works for ya’s of course, but I’ve never been able to play really toght knit shooters like this with one.

(Mister__Wiggles) #18

I hope you have been able to play this game since you polluted this. Would like to see the option thete for people that need it because they have no option.

(Runeforce) #19

As the OP mentioned, via use of a third-party program to bind your keyboard to your controller.
