Control ****up: Proxy mine dropping

(FireWorks) #1

First let me say a big thank you for transforming the “suicide by mine” into “X killed Y with his mine”. Great, I love you!

Now to the new thing Id like to bring up. I’m not exactly sure why I have this problem only with Proxy, but it kills me a lot:

What Id like to happen:
Drop a mine, switch to my primary and to shoot at the mine. (Usually in hot situations around corners)

What actually happens:
A) I drop the first and second mine (and get shot in the meantime). OR
B) I drop the first and cant fire my primary until I reclick M1

I use the default quickbinds and it works pretty well for most situations on most mercs, but on Proxy the screw up is really noticable. There is also the minor problem on Sawbones that if you drop a medpack and instantly use paddles, you switch back to medpacks instead of your weapon. But this is reliable and switching to the primary fixes it. With Proxy I never know what will happen and it’s too often going against me since it usually happens in critical situations where you either blow up your opponent or die yourself if he makes it around the corner.

Again thanks for all the small things you do here. They add to a great experience with the game and its a blast to play it.

this bug also appears very often when not useng quickbinds. (switch+drop+switch+shoot)

It’s likely because you’re trying to shoot(lmb) before you’ve character has actually switched what weapon you’re holding. So it recognizes it as you are ‘firing’ while still holding the mine and it tosses out another one.

either way, this is wrong.

If thats the case (even for a single use quickfire bind) then pls FIX IT

This delay is just poor coding; come on SD! You are getting me killed out there!

Sounds like you’re describing the “weapon doesn’t start to fire after weapon-switch has completed if fire button is pressed too early” bug.

This one is pretty high up on the annoyance/frustration/wtf scale for me too, looking forward to this getting addressed soon.
