So I had this great Idea!
One of my favorite* songs “Love Story” by Taylor Swift happens to have many lines that awkwardly yet hilariously also detail balancing aspects in DB. Such as “Daddy stay away from Juliet” is how I felt Developers sometimes approached balancing. Stay away from certain mercs, etc.
I propose that as a community, we post our best renditions of certain parts of the lyrics which I have in the spoiler below:

If the community can insert a full parodied version of the lyrics, I will make a parody music video featuring DB stuffs and this new song sung to the original tune. NO Promises on when, since I’m still finishing up my story on Phoenix and Sparks; but it WILL happen. I will also be the one rewriting the lyrics that you all have posted.

RULES:
- Copy and paste the part that you are reworking lyrics-wise. Spoiler these ones.
- Write your own lyrics for the part.
- If you use lyrics that are the same as the original, INDENT them. (such as: “My Daddy said, Stay away from the Timik”)
- Try to make your lyrics make sense too. If things are linear, just like this “love story” by TS, then it’ll just be that more awesome!
- You get bonus points for actually using real examples. These count for nothing. (Such as Phantom, Sparks, and Thunder)
- No cussing. I don’t swear outside of Crap, piss and faggot. And I don’t feel comfortable singing ‘faggot’ since it could be directed at a developer. I shouldn’t need to say ‘keep it PG.’
- Keep personal arguments between each-other out of it. This is for fun, not to spite. Your idea of balance may be different from someone elses.
- I also recommend keeping names of other players or developers out of it. However, if you happen to have a line that actually is really awesome, I may still use it.
- You are not limited to solely singing about balancing regarding mercs, or core gameplay.
- Any ties to the actual Shakespearan play “Romeo and Juliet” gets massive points. I will introduce your forum name in the beginning of the video as a thanks for being awesome before singing. This cannot be as simple as saying Romeo and Juliet. But actually tying them to real things. As an example that you MAY use: Getting rid of Dazzler for Fragger and Thunder paralleling to something from the play. Use your brains.
- You do not need to write lyrics for the whole song, silly.
- I want multiple versions of EACH part of the original lyrics. Feel more than free to recreate something someone else has already contributed.
All people who contribute lyrics will have their names in the ending credits of the song, regardless of whether their lyrics were used or not.
