Content/Fix Schedule

(Hundopercent) #1

It’s been roughly 4 weeks since the release of the major update. We still have a few bugs, one I would consider somewhat critical, and no new soldiers or weapons to buy.

I would like to see some sort of release schedule made, similar to how LoL does theirs (I’m assuming that’s what you were aiming for with the way the game is setup) and have a more consistent flow of updates, fixes, and content.

If you plan on updating every 2-3 months I can’t see myself sticking around as I’m already somewhat bored with the new maps and I don’t use the new soldiers (abilities aren’t consistent.)

Just thought I would throw out how I feel about it right now. I’m willing to spend if you guys can deliver and you delivered with the last update but I’m getting hungry…

I don’t know what the intended release tempo is but at this point I am aware of a number of significant problems that go well beyond tuning of snipers or introducing new weapons and toons.

The Sudden Defeat for No Reason is a Severity 1: It is unpredictable, it affects a lot of people, and there is no work a round.
Phantom Captain: Capt is dead to opponent but still active to owner. This is severity 1 also. It is unpredictable and there is no work a round. It has a serious impact on game play but I don’t know how wide spread it is.
The Shield o Bot glitch effectively removes the usefulness of a toon. It is predictable, it affects a lot of people and there is a (bad) work a round (don’t use it). At least severity 2.
Network failure and game crash. There are situations that appear to be network related that cause the game to not be able to send the turn at the end. Changes iPad networks does not help. Only way to clear it is a program restart. This shows a deeper problem. Severity 2. Not sure how widespread. There is a work a round of sorts.
Slow loading of matches list and UI hangs. I assume this hits everybody all the time but low impact. Severity 3 if I’m being generous.

We’ve been told that the devs are aware of some of these and the bugs will be fixed in the next release. When is that? I understand it is not unusual for software to be released with bugs. It happens all the time. The important question is how long does it take to get the serious problems fixed.

We’ve got a fix for games ending unexpectedly which is with Apple at the moment. Don’t think it’ll be that much longer for it to be released. I’m pretty sure your Phantom Captain report is directly related to that issue, so should be fixed by it as well. This update also includes a new challenge pack.

Shield-o-bots not being able to move onto squares previously occupied by now-dead characters requires a more elaborate fix and so will be in the update after this next one.

Thanks for the update, BM!

Sounds good but how about a more active content release cycle? I mean come on badman I’m putting my wallet on a table here.
