Container City - Old vs New

Remember those old gameplay videos of Container City? After playing the actual game it made me wonder about 2 questions…

  1. Was the campaign originally a little bit more than just the same multiplayer map. I mean in the old video before attacking the Security actually just talks for a while in an interactive cut-scene kind of deal before their cover gets blown by an helicopter. I wonder if the game had more moments like these…

  2. What was the ending about? It the videos they left kind of an cliffhanger ending and the Security discovered something. In the game you just steal it and take it to the helicopter.

i would imagine that those kind of in-game cutscenes were just cut out at one point, better to focus on other things.

But some remained, so I too wonder what the reason was to remove that specific cutscene.
I used to think it looked quite interesting.

To me it seems a lot of the graphic quality was somehow lost, and much of the story was cut completely. Maybe as a way to stretch it with DLC, maybe due to time constraints placed by Bethesda. I would like to see the full story, because from what I see from playing the game there’s something really good in there, but someone mangled it all up to the point where it makes very little sense.

Not that it affects my opinion about the game itself in any way; I purchased it exclusively for the competitive multiplayer content, and there is does everything I had hoped it to do. It’s just… You know; if you’re going to take the time to do something, you should at least make it well. The story we see is not very well done, but I know in my gut that there was some really good artistic merit to it at some point.

Also, if Bethesda thinks I am going to pay for any sort of expansion onto the story of the game alone, they’re dreaming. Maybe a map pack if it’s got like, say, a dozen or so and is only around $2.50. I still remember horse armor. HORSE ARMOR!
