Constructive for dazman
Your desire to ensure that everyone knows just how “cheap” Brink is, combined with your desire to have several threads with your name on them, is quite astounding

I wonder - would you mind telling us exactly what your point is with these threads? I for one would like to know if there’s even a sniff of positivity in here, regardless of how much you’ll need to sugar coat that. I’m thinking you’re just taking shots at SD or simply not thinking about what you’re posting, so this is your opportunity to prove otherwise  No pressure of course, this is a public forum after all.
I aim to astound and astonish. It’s neat-o that I’m important enough to be astounding. Neato torpedo with a biscuit and tea, mate. Add a side of bollocks and you have the grandeur of Great Britain.

The point I, and the rest of the consumers on Planet Earth are making is that Splash Damage dug its own grave. They dug that grave with a shovel marked “We’re going to find the worst possible support in gaming history and then we’re going to do worse.” And to top things off it was likely inscribed in a cheeky calligraphy that reeks of “better than you.”

The point, now that Splash Damage is finished is thus: After they change their name to something at which people will not balk, they and the rest of the global gaming industry need to learn a lesson. Release a half-baked product and you’re a half-baked company. In whatever iteration Splash Damage redesigns itself, those in charge would be wise to learn from the absolute catastrophe we call Brink.

You see, I was OK with the glitches and irritations. But I came here for help and I was completely ignored. They aren’t “too busy” perfecting their abomination. Any person who believes that anyone at Splash Damage accomplishes anything resembling work is naive indeed. It is difficult to imagine that this sort of flippant snobbery and ineffectual production is anything other than a part of British culture.

You’re willing to accept the folly of another simply because you paid to make it happen. And you’re too shamed to admit it. These developers are not the aristocracy and SD has destroyed itself in its attempts to achieve that standing.

The point is I gave them my money and when I needed help they thumbed their noses and told me to !@#$ off. It’s not about whether Brink is good or bad. It’s about the product commonly called customer service. No business can survive long with a complete absence of service or support. Splash Damage is now one of “those” companies.

As for positivity I’d like to end this post with an encouraging fact:

Brink does not cause lung cancer. Huzzah.

Well, I see. Thanks for explaining that in clear detail, it was quite a revealing read  I’m currently unsure which of the two main points takes priority here - your disdain for the British, or your disdain for SD and Brink - it’s quite hard to tell! However, I think we can both agree that a rant… I mean “post” like this, is far more valuable than two threads stating how cheap Brink currently is. I usually don’t quote entire posts, but I think this one needs to be preserved beyond any editing that might be applied to it.

At this point I’d like to say - you seem to have assumed I’m a die-hard, truth-denying SD fanboy who has a different opinion of the game itself - which isn’t true I’m afraid. I simply thought your threads were pointless - that doesn’t mean I disagree with any opinions you may not have actually stated. I abandoned the game along with most other PC players months ago, but just didn’t feel the need to come back and create several threads to dig at the developers. Sure, I’ve had my fair share of negative posts on here - accessible via my post history - but on the whole I’ve tried to be constructive and have provided a lot of feedback on my “main issues”, in the hope that SD would “un-break” the PC version of Brink. Sadly, to no avail.

Anyhow, I’m toddling off now - I have lunch with Winston Churchill in the Houses of Parliament. We’re having Earl Grey tea, scones with butter, and we’re discussing our plans for invading our “pesky ancestors” across the pond, who seem to have forgotten who they answer to. Toodle pips and chocks away Old Boy! Seriously, have a scone - they’re lovely.

Winston Churchill was a genius and one of the greatest democratic leaders the western world has known. But that still doesn’t make him entitled to an extra “h.”

Enjoy the buttery scones. Your Earl Grey, however, is going in the harbor. Take comfort that it almost assuredly won’t sink as quickly as other “things.”

heh, caught in the act! Fair enough with the Earl Grey, it’s not everone’s cup of tea (fnarr fnarr) - but I definitely didn’t spell Winston’s name incorrectly. salutes Churchill and passes him another scone

However, I need to add - I’m also no patriot, and just found the anti-British sentiment amusing  I don’t do patriotism, full stop - mostly because it’s often used to antagonise, inflame, or just plain insult other nations. Flags are silly, IMO.

OK, I think that covers it

Scones are delicious. At least the US ones are. Can’t say it’s the genuine article.

I like Scones too but not as much as muffins.
