Making the game actually playable on xbox 360 would be a good start.Fix the lag and the graphical issues so the game looks like an xbox 360 game and not a ps2 game.Ill be happy and play the hell out of this game once they fix that.
Constructive Criticism on how to improve Brink. (Feel free to share your ideas)
I’m basically just repeating what has already been said, but nonetheless here is my two cents.
This is obviously not one of the more important things to be addressed, but I would like to see numbers for weapon statistics as opposed to sliding bars (or just add numbers if need be). It’d also be nice to have a way of comparing two weapons’ statistics directly instead of having to mouse-over constantly to see the differences. Once again, these are very minor things but they would be a welcome addition.
As for customization, I would like to have the ability to customize my clothing more in-depth with a color palette. I believe that would remove a portion of the apathy toward customization a lot of players are experiencing.
The thing that would improve Brink the most however, is a SDK. The games that I’ve gotten the most enjoyment out of and have played the longest, all had a SDK. It’s the only way to keep a game fresh over the years without continuously pouring money into development. It vastly strengthens the game’s community and keeps people coming back for more.
Nice thread, I have some suggestions for the HUD of Brink.
I’m thinking about these optional settings for the “advanced” player:
- Disable all outlines (replace spotted mine/enemy with a icon)
- Disable player names (only class icon, show name/health/ammo when point @ them like QW)
- Show player names from fireteam only
- Custom icon size
- Disable spread indicator
- Different crosshairs & colors
- Fireteam list (overview class/health)
- Adjust range where the icons will fade out
Also the “layers” for showing the icons are incorrect, see screenshot.
One icon cover the maintenance bot and another one Belhadj while they are both in front of the incapacitated players.

There is a back entrance, a metal door is slightly opened and you can slide under it.
The game is begging for an expert mode that removes the enemy outlines, the HUD markings and the radar.
Combine “action self” and “action other” into one key. More stable movement and interaction. Add CTF and CP modes. Improve turrets, introduce greater differentiation between classes and body types.

please…
no “hardcore”
no “CTF”
no “TDM”
don’t turn the turrets into “sentry guns”
sheez. this is NOT CoD and we DONT WANT IT TO BE. We want the things that will make THIS game better…not turn it into a map pack for black ops.

Hi. Never played CoD so no idea what you’re on about.
You know what would make the game better? Less mickey mouse crap to assist clueless players. Like enemy outlines and radars. Like sentry guns that you can saunter up to and melee to death. Like game modes that aren’t the same 5 objectives over and over and over.
It’s as much your game as mine, and I’m fairly certain that there are a lot of other people who would like to see Brink made into a deeper, more interesting gaming experience - not Battlefield Heroes, which it’s only a click shy of at the moment.

You asking me?
Ok…
Fix the MAJOR problems people are having.
Fix the glitches in the game.
Fix the horrible bots and match making.
Let us enjoy what should have been the finished product for a while….and THEN make game play opinions based on more play time. I PERSONALLY think that asking for CoD rip offs, while theres bigger fish to fry, is counter-productive.

Thread is how to improve Brink. I posted. You’ll have to be at peace with that. And, again, I’ve never played CoD. Never will, by the way. Not sure why you are keep leveling that as an insult. CoD was not the first game to introduce the things I mentioned (does CoD even have those things?), so it’s a little strange that you keep citing it as the source for the concept.
One of these examples is the level where you have to defend/get that fuel to fill the plane. There is only ONE way to get inside that place. That’s not good level design. There are also other levels where there is only one way to get to an objective.
Actually there is two ways to get inside the place, when you pick up the fuel instead of taking the first door to the outdoor area take the second door on the right and then turn left.
Also I strongly agree with your opinion on the weapon modifications, I think they affect the weapons performance a bit too much.
