There’s a bug with my forward movement that I can’t seem to fix, rapidly pressing W is a temporary solution but breaks the game experience especially with Sparks and Phantom. I’ve already tried reinstalling and unplugging everything but this problem persists.

There are several reasons why this could be happening. Make sure to have all controllers unplugged. If you tab out or windows key out while moving this will/can cause the movement issues you are talking about.
After tabbing back in the Merc will move forward and you will need to cancel the current movement. I usually use the arrow keys to stop my movement.
Have you tried using a different keyboard?

It seems it might possibly be the tabbing out/windows since I have a a bit of a habit to do that. And I have a laptop, changing keyboards isn’t an option, sadly.
