Consider removing type-based XP from daily missions

Let’s face it. Everyone has their own playstyle. Some people like being that person behind helping people up or supporting them with ammunition. Some people like being on the frontlines doing the objectives and lastly we have the ones that just want to kill people.

I think the daily missions are bad because they force people into playing classes/roles they don’t like/find fun. I love playing engineer. I think I’m good at it. Always at the front lines making sure the objective is moving. But then I get the support-xp daily and I just can’t stop thinking that I’m now playing a class I don’t enjoy because I needs those credits.

Sure you might think I don’t have to do the daily missions. But as you know they don’t disappear until you finish them, couple that with the slow Credits-earn rate and you don’t really have a choice if you want to save up for new classes/loadouts.

So please. My suggestion is just make that daily mission a universal “earn 20000 exp” (or higher) instead of forcing people to play classes they don’t enjoy.

Inb4 “you should play any role”.

L2P… You should UNDERSTAND every role, even if it means, going the hard way. :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t really agree they should go. I find it helps me play a variety of mercs, which helps keep the game fresh. What I don’t enjoy is that they’re the same amounts, even when not all types of XP are equally difficult to get.

Objective XP can be either very hard or very easy to get, but it’s basically a competition regardless; only one person can claim repair or plant XP. EV damage is steadier, but airstrikes do tend to eat up a lot of it.

Support XP is easier to get at a steady rate, basically. It can be slow ( either because a lot of people are handing out ammo all the time ), but it’s not too bad.

Combat XP is probably the least helpful one, as it doesn’t force you to play a specific merc at all.

Oh, and they’re still wonky. You can still have earned 4000 Support XP, but only get a few 100 toward your mission goal. If there’s an actual reason for this, it needs to be explained better.

100% agree

I’m 100% convinced support XP is bugged beyond a doubt. EVERY DAY I complete “Waterboy”, I RECEIVE ANOTHER “WATERBOY” DAILY. This is the 6th day.

It takes me about 20 rounds just to complete the daily since it’s not counting the XP correctly. I played a stopwatch and got over 3000xp, yet the bar never moved.

So now I run around like an idiot throwing ammo at people 24x7, limiting my class choices to one character EVERY TIME I PLAY.

I just gave up on the daily mission. There’s no way for me to cancel it and get the mission behind it.

Yes, the mission is bugged in stopwatch, not in objective though. Usually takes 3-4 matches to complete.

In stopwatch it only gives you xp for the second round, I think. If you fullheld the attacker’s with epic revives, and then stormed the 1st obj in 2min, you will get almost no XP

(avidCow) #8

Yeah, lol. I was in a match the other night where we went full hold > smashed first obj. I mentioned afterwards that we would have been able to milk more XP and credits by derping around for an extra 10 minutes.

@Szakalot I think that Stopwatch actually rewards you both rounds, since there were cases where I got 500 of the in-game currency, which is double from the maximum I get in a long Objective game. Though, in such cases, neither team completed all of the objectives, ao the match was very long. So, if the Stopwatch match was short enough, it would reward the same amount as a single Objective game I think. Just a guess.

I would rather they just added more missions. The lack of variety is really the only problem. Maybe stuff like “5 kills in 3 seconds”, sounds like something from Quake.

Maybe get an airshot with a projectile, I dunno, just something more exciting than Ammopack throwing simulator 2015.

I just don’t like that I must play certain mercs in some matches because I need those xp. Even if our team has like 7 engineers, I have to play it aswell or there is no way for me to have a chance to earn game xp fast enough. It’s not well designed because you need a varied team to succeed.

Imagine if you get waterboy. You have several medics and skyhammers/arty already. No engineers. Why would you even play engineer if you have to grind the xp for the daily by playing either a medic or a ammo-throwing class? This just means people won’t switch class because they will definitely focus on their own daily before even considering playing as a team.

Well luckily now missions refill every three hours instead of every day. “You can also abandon unwanted missions, and they’ll be replaced with the next three-hourly drop.” http://forums.dirtybomb.nexon.net/discussion/10978/dirty-bomb-presents-the-rhino-and-kira-update
