Consequential RPG Elements

(3Suns) #1

Loot Ninja reported that tattoos were persistent. Once you choose that puppy, it stays. Perhaps we will be able to put new art on top. SD can squash this rumor in the bud if it is wrong. In the meantime, I will say that it adds consequences to XP expenditures, and it makes this element of the game that much deeper. I was surprised because I had assumed that gamers would be able to change the appearance of their characters even just between matches. Not so, says the foul mouthed loot ninjas! WOOT!

Another good choice by SD. :stroggtapir:

Good. There’s a certain prestige about chosing permanent things.

(LyndonL) #3

I thought that was known several months ago?

(Exedore) #4

The tattoo thing is something that Rahdo’s always been big on, if you remember Fable 2…

(tokamak) #5

Right so going by that we can also expect cross-dressing customisation?

(3Suns) #6

Parkouring in a dress!!! LMAO

(.Chris.) #7

Maybe nice middle ground for the we want female character crowd.

Fishnet stockings should pose no problem during parkour.
Maybe we should ask Bezzy to try that

I also heard your face and voice are permanent as well, which makes me think that every available face and voice are available from the start.

“Kyle Wedgwood at length, founder of Splash Damage”
never trust someone who can’t get names right

(tokamak) #12

You haven’t heard of Paul’s evil twin?

(Reanimator) #13

Wow that is hilarious:D

Do you at least get the 24 hour trial like with abilities?

(3Suns) #15

I wouldn’t think so. Decisions with weight! :stroggtapir: Ultimately, if you play the game enough, you will have enough XP to accessorize new characters.

(Wraith) #16

Make sense can’t really test drive a tattoo.

(aaarrm) #17

if you choose to not have any tattoos on in the beginning, can you still add them on later?

Because I’d choose tattoos like real life, I wouldn’t. They’re always something you think is cool in the moment then later you tire of and don’t want, you don’t think it’s so amazing anymore, just like songs. It always gets old. It’d take quite a while for me to decide on one, lol.

(LyndonL) #18

I would assume so yes… similar to how you’d be able to choose clothing unlocks

(tokamak) #19

I do think trail times were rumoured somewhere. I certainly hope not, as indeed decisions and looking ahead should be meaningful. There would be no reward to knowing what you want.

(DouglasDanger) #20

If this stuff is true, I hope all of the faces and tattoos are available from the beginning. Unlock clothing and hair, which are changeable, and gun parts and stuff like that.

I know you can have several characters and spread XP between them, but I hope hair and tats are all available from the begiining.
