config ?

(Jesus) #1

Hey is there anyway to have config like these today ?

(Amerika) #2

Nope. Most of those values have been clamped down to a value that doesn’t give somebody a view advantage compared to others. You used to be able to see through airstrikes, trees, bushes etc. and now you can set your config to a bit lower than the lowest settings allows but not by much.

(Jesus) #3

Crap. I have a laptop I thought this would grant me some more FPS that sucks

(MisterMurder) #4

@Jesus After you have opened the game and still haven’t entered a server try opening the console (with the “~” key) and type texturepoolsize 1. This will give you a slight FPS boost and make things look even more potatoish. Another thing you can do is to enable UpscaleScreenPercentage in the config and set ScreenPercentage to ~60-70. You really don’t want to go bellow that
. At 50 when you use Stark AR’s ironsight the crosshair is barely visible.

(Jesus) #5

@MisterMurder I have tried this texturepoolsize thing but the gain in fps is realy not worth the potato look i get how do i remove that thing ?

(MisterMurder) #6

@Jesus type texturepoolsize X. Where X is the amount of VRAM you have in MBs or just reboot the game.

You can enable SmoothFrameRate, I think it used to help. Not quite like walking on water, but you can try it.

Example:
bSmoothFrameRate=TRUE
MinSmoothedFrameRate=20*
MaxSmoothedFrameRate=120*

*Min is lowest fps you’re getting, Max is highest fps you’re getting.
You should change them accordingly.

I have a question myself, but don’t want to post a new discussion just for this.

Can someone tell me how to be sure if Thread sync is OFF?
In the video options menu it always reverts it to ON. Very, very annoying.
It’s OneThreadFrameLag in the config file and it should be enabled there for thread sync to be off, right?

(Jesus) #8

@The_Enema_Bandit If you do modification in your game file dont forget to put them in Read only after or the game might revert the changes you did

(MisterMurder) #9

@The_Enema_Bandit Having OneFrameThreadLag set to True gives you the FPS boost but adds a minor input delay/lag.

I noticed a few settings that don’t seem to be saved in the .inis anymore but somewhere else. For example, when I delete all .inis my sensitivity stays the same. Changing it in ShooterInput.ini doesn’t change the value shown in the menu or the actual sensitivity in the menu.

But yes, it should be Thread Sync off in the menu and OneThreadFrameLag On in the .ini
