So the one i was using no longer seems to work and now my potato of a pc struggles to run the game at 60fps. Anyone know any working config files?
config files for the latest update?
yes, they keep secretly increasing the minimum graphic settings despite the large majority of the player base having FPS problem.
But why? Are they trying to remove potato users and only have the elite gamers playing dirty bomb?
The reason why configs are a lot more restricted now is because they gave a visual advantage earlier on. Back then you could make the game look like complete garbage but the configs also disabled animations.
Here an example.
Kira’s laser gives out a blue light after spawned.
When using the configs, the light just wasn’t there.
You could see the enemy while he couldn’t assuming he didn’t have any config.
Also, whole trees and the foliage would disappear making you have a clean shot without any view issues in some places (like from the MG nest on the first part of Trainyard). Also, you could easily see through and fire through Skyhammer’s strikes. There was the downside of you not being able to see the lines for the strike to know which way it was going but that was much much less of an issue in 5v5…especially when most Skyhammer’s in legit competition will throw them in a predictable way.
That still happens though @Amerika ? When I set my geometry detail to low, half my trees disappear. It’s a huge advantage on Chapel, if you’re on the attacking side and you push through the left building, where you leave the building and take the little stairwell that turns left (where the health pack sinking problem first occured) there is a little shrub there that can’t be seen through when geometry detail is on medium or higher. I often sit in it and shoot people who are in plain sight who then abuse me asking how I could see them because they can’t see me through the bush lol.
except that argument doesn’t work because there are lots of useless details like leaves falling/blowing in the wind, minor animations, surface reflections, and other useless effects that has nothing to do with player advantage or not. It’s mostly an arbitrary decision to force how the game looks on everyone instead of allowing those with later generations cpus to improve their fps. But I get it, the devs want their game to have a certain graphic detail standard to appeal to the marketing side instead of the competetive side. But if they care about that they should give a real demo recording system so we can post our youtube videos in highest video settings.
This is a legitimate problem with lower graphics because it does in fact give better visual advantages but my question is that if everyone can do it, why is it a problem?
If someone chooses to have it look fancy them let them, it’s just going to be their disadvantage.
Tbh, I don’t think it should still be possible to not see any explosions as it is partly meant to distort vision.
Then how about just textures? leave everything else in the game apart from the texture of walls, ect? anything to help my poor pc
