Concern about PC Dedi Servers...

So maybe this has been answered, but I found nothing on a search…

Will the PC version be using a standard server browser?

I ask because while dedicated servers are nice, I gotta give it to consoles on convenience. I can guarantee that I’ll be teamed with a friend at the start, and we can just choose what game mode we want and the matchmaking system does the rest. On a PC, a friend and I have to scroll through to find a server running just the right mode (and with a game like Brink with coop, multi, and a variety of missions therein…), then logging in and hoping to get on the same team and not have to fear some team auto-balance prevents it. I think the Left 4 Dead model is a great compromise, where you all meet in a lobby, set the parameters, and then the game puts you in a server. I also noticed that the Crysis 2 demo is addressing that in its own way.

Probably asking too much, but figured I’d ask all the same. Looking forward to it regardless. Cheers.

For PC there will be a standard server browser for “playnow” servers (and probably a find a match button with oarameters you plug in for preferences).

In addition, it sounds like you or your friend can just start a game and join on each other any time. There’s specualtion on what servers are used when this mode is being used, it’s pretty grey right now as far as that goes. It’s hard to tell though because lots of times there’s no real distinction made about PC vs Console when Dev’s talk about how these things work, it seems like just about all their comments are geared towards Console gamers when talking about these kind of things.

But it dioes seems like you will get what you are looking for.
