Since I have no other ideas where and what could cause the problems, have to ask it finally here:
Compiling a really small map (can throw a grenade from one side to other) now has become impossible due to the fact that I can’t compile it any more than simply BSP -meta. As there comes any more parameters - process goes up to ~98% of CPU (Athlon64 X2) and 1.3GB of RAM (on computer there is 2GB in total), computer starts to freeze for a while and finally it simply shuts down with no warnings or whatsoever.
That happens when compiling gets to:
Q3Map - v1.0r © 1999 Id Software Inc.
Q3Map (ydnar) - v2.5.17
GtkRadiant - v1.5.0 May 12 2008 02:23:37
Last one turns the lights off
— InitPaths —
After that follows shutdown (approx. in 3-5 minutes of staying like that). Here is picture with q3map2.x86 process (does it actually have to use SO much of resources for a map where are few self-made chairs and wood planks, lol?)
Compiling simple box makes no problem, but when it comes to something bigger - process simply goes “Sleeping” with all my CPU and RAM and finally turns off computer.
Anyone have any ideas how this can be fixed? Somewhere to get newer/better q3map2.x86 file?
GtkRadiant: 1.5.0
OS: Ubuntu 7.10
CPU: AMD Athlon64 X2 5000+
RAM: 2GB
Game: RtCW (Wild West modificiation)
Thanks in advance!
