Complete Steam integration?

(Benzi) #1

Hi guys,

First post, is it just me or is Steam not fully integrated into the game yet? Do you still need to complete full integration because there are no social functions beyond displaying your steam friends who have the game. For example I should be allowed to click on someone on the scoreboard and view their Steam profile, also I should be able to add people to a friends list in game or on Steam. Also if you shift tab into the Steam overlay and look for previous players none from Dirty Bomb are displayed, this works for every other multiplayer game i’ve played on Steam so maybe the Steam API provides all this in one package, I haven’t looked into it.

Note, this isn’t a complaint more of a reminder/suggestion that needs to be implemented for the game to grow. I’ve came across a few good players ingame and haven’t been able to add them to play in the future. This is a bit of a turn off as my usual gaming friends won’t try this game for some reason.

If you can actually add people ingame and I’m being silly, please do inform me and I will do so from now on.

I hope they do the whole works…

See recent players, view profile, VAC, steam marketplace… at least on some items OR at least trading for cards. I’d hate to be stuck with duplicate cobalt cards.

There has been a couple of players, that I wanted to check for VACations, but couldn’t do it, because of this flaw.
I hope that they get this done soon enough.

At the very least, link the command “playerlist” to steam to get steam_ID of players. That would improve reporting process greatly. Besides, VAC is more or less the same than what we already have with ixgncode. Especially on third party games based on UE3. So that sounds like a big waste of time switching to it.

Just posted a similar thread. The game really needs some more social features. The UI really needs some work. Also why we can’t open loadout cases in the lobby? I don’t want to disconnect just to check what I got.
