Compiling with -dark

Does anyone ever use the -dark compile switch? I think it looks pretty cool. It gives some artificial depth. The first screenshot is with dark, the second is not.

EDIT: For those of you without Q3map2Toolz’s description, -dark makes the edges of lightmaps darker. :slight_smile:

@Gringo, that does look interesting, it seems the -dark gives a better gradient to the lightmap, I assume you didn`t alter the map or shaders, just the compile options? …have you any other comparison shots of it? :slight_smile:

Actually, that does make that top corner of the room look a lot better. Shaders are the same. I have a feeling it might only be compile differences aside from -dark. The -dark pic, I brightened in PS because I didn’t run a bounce compile. I’ll try a real side by side in a day or 2. :slight_smile:
