Compiling Problems

(poohBear) #1

I tried to compile my models and everything looks ok when i compile it using the BSP -meta options. Other than that, when i tried a full compile with lights, vis etc, all my model turned black even though i had lights in it.

I actually created my model in 3dsMax and exported it as an ASE file before importing it in GTK as a misc_model. Is there a possibility that i missed out something when I was exporting my model??

Screenshot?

Are your models vertex lit or lightmapped?
Did you UVW-wrap your models?
Did you assign proper file names in the material editor?

Also see this thread from Q3W about exporting ASE models from 3dsMAX:

Hmmm. I know that when I compile without calculating the lightgrid, my ASE models are black. It doesn’t sound like that’s your problem, but try adding a key of “_mingridlight” “10” to your worldspawn (Works in RTCW, not sure about ET specificially). Then recompile of course.
