compiling freezes at IlluminateVertexes

i have set in my map brushes as detail and structures. unfournatetly, i can’t do compile now. it freezes at IlluminateVertexes.

before any changes my map was fully compiling within 7 minutes, now i have waited over 10 and nothing has changed… thanks!

Just let it run a couple hours and come back with the results.

revert your latest changes and try again ?

Usually models get a vertexlightning by default (unless they are lightmapped). Maybe that’s a hint…

well, compiling ended with success, BUT it took MUCH longer than usual… why? i though making certain brush detail will speed up the process…

I can’t tell for shure, but I think its because compiling is more complicated now (when you set those brushes to detailed and structured).
BTW: sorry for not sending those fruit models, I’m not at home

-light -patchshadows -samples 3

always light fast :stuck_out_tongue: (dunno where read it, i forgot, but some wise et guy said it iirc)

try -light -patchshadows -samples 3 and u will never ever look at light fast again. :slight_smile:

Do you have alot of patchmeshes in your map?

no, less than 20 i think.
