In my opinion the only postive thing about the released .map files is that you can look in it -> thus learn stuff from it.

The maps are good as they are… so IF you are going to modify it… make it big.

Maybe a fueldump inverted would be nice… i played a mirrorsided goldrush once… that was pretty fun ^^

What i’m trying to say… don’t try to replace the originals by custom. or only for competition maps. like sw_goldrush or sw_oasis… but that’s it.

why not, I found the battery_recharged as not bad map; it was really interesting to play it with all the new objectives added
there are many good maps, that could be reworked a bit or maybe a lot, to make some new, fresh expirience; like all Marakech_streets versions and many others;
so I say why not :smiley:

I’m not that crazy about maps with tunnels either he he, I do not like maps where you get lost in tunnels. But I believe that a simple tunnel should be ok. Or another way of prevent allies to cut off the spawn point.

What is different with NQ? Is the mod using part of the hunkmeg?

NQ-mod uses itself 4 Mb hunkmegs, and fueldump is on something about 51,5 so together they make usage of about 55,5(almost 56), so if player has hunkmegs seted to 56 he gets kicked; and to play the map on NQ u need to set megs to 128 or higher, wat not all ppl can do.

Damn, I just managed to get Al Kad beneath the 56 limit. That means I might have to make a special NQ version.

Many people use tweaked cfgs from others… and more than some have no idea of what hunkmegs’ setting is :slight_smile:

yep almost NQ servers cant run Fueldump and other maps who give hunkmegs problems
and Doofy fixed Fueldump for NQ and noone been kicked so far

yesterday i’ve been playing on 8 players server on fueldumpNQ… it was VERY laggy near the fueldump, wich made the game impossible to play. players that were near FD had a around 1 sec lag in movement (although their ping was ~40)

?? strange cuz we have an 38 slots nq server and playing fueldumpNQ we dont noticed lag same when the server is full

prolly a player/ s was lagging the server where u played or did you played on a server very far from where you live

i’m from poland and the server i’ve been playing is located in germany… it happened again today. everyone was lagging, like you press W to move and after 1 sec player started to move… lagometer didn’t show anything strange and my ping and other players was good too.

yep we had to remove the map from the rotation
here where we lag
maybe someone can fix this problem

so basically, if noobs can’t change their com_hunkmegs - they don’t play. there is absolutly no need to change something just to fit the map within default limit.

If you’re recompiling battery, be sure to fix the clipping error near the backdoor…
