Competitive Play Matchmaking

Since there’s not a specific forum for Competitive Play, guess I’ll post here.

Grouping for Competitive Play should be limited to solo/duo queues only. Far too often I’m sitting against a 4 or 5 man premade of lvl20+ when my team is <lvl10. This happens on a fairly consistent basis. I’d say at the least 1 out of every 4 games ends up this way, whether I’m the 5th in a four man premade or the other team consists of it.

Typically when there isn’t a 4 or 5 man group on a team, the matches do tend to be relatively even. Obviously with a low player population who play competitive makes sense that some matches may go unbalanced.

But groups of 4 or 5 who do want to play together should probably have more accessibility to scrims against other groups of players.

If others have/have not noticed this trend, please, share your thoughts! :smiley:

That would restrict competitive play considerably… players who play in larger groups of friends are bound to have a higher chance of winning usually do to their communication and desire to play cooperatively. During the current phase of this game(AKA Beta) I feel that most players do not take competitive seriously enough for any reliable solo/duo queue, but that is because of the current mission system in place where some individuals simply play for the credits and not the game, and thus treat it like a public match.

In my opinion, if you’re not running in a five man setup, you’re doing it wrong. Why hinder yourself when you could have the benefit of communication across all your players? Matchmaking should at least try to prioritize making pre-mades face pre-mades and duo/solo against duo/solo.

The competitive scene right now in game is a bit of a joke. Whenever my team would queue, we would win 30-40 games straight and then get paired up against RAISN (For realz, this happened to us) and get stomped by a world top team. Everyone is either level 6 and 7 or 45-50.

So you want the competitive game mode to not allow competitive play… Now that doesn’t make much sense!

I do think as Kaneki said that it should put 1-3 player groups up against each other and 4-5 player groups against each other. Obviously if you solo queue you could end up in any of those groups. However, skill should always be a factor, which it doesn’t seem to be.

I’m not even sure there’s enough players queuing for comp for matchmaking to ever be good. about 95% of my games are what appear to be low levels, noobs and non-premades, even though I’m almost always in a 3- to 5-player premade.

Considering the time it takes for a queue to pop and the disparity in skill, I’m pretty sure it just finds the first 10 people it can and matches them together.

Huh…For some reason it changed my post…it deleted the last half of it.

The part the post cut out was that I didn’t think 4-5man groups were bad in anyway. The reason for disabling 3+ groups in competitive is for the exact reason that the population is so low. There are Scrims available for people who play the 5man competitive scene, but this is something that needs to be made more available and accessible in game.

you guys still can get a match. i wait for looong time on asia server and couldn’t get any match :confused:
tried to play on other server just to find out i’m just a burden. my ping is 10 times the average :confused:
