Hey Guys, Many of you know me from my trickjump videos on youtube, and from competitive. I had an idea about having a stream on Mondays, that would talk about dirty bomb and the competitive scene in dirty bomb. I would have special guests join me, and we would talk about the past week in dirty bomb. The patches, updates, tournaments, and just what is going on and our thoughts on it. It would normally start around 8 est and would go about 2-3 hours. We will also be playing pubs and pugs with other players and viewers. This would be on my twitch which is, twitch.tv/42YnNaDTV. What are your thoughts on this? And most importantly would you tune in?
Competitive Dirty Bomb Talk Show
Sounds nice for noobies especially, but sadly I can’t attend it D: Maybe post on YouTube part of Twitch strips?
Yeah I would like to listen to your views on it, the time is a bit hard for us EU players but I will try to drop by.
I edited your post to add in the URL for your Twitch channel. Hope you don’t mind. I also followed and should be around to watch as well. I like the concept. Basically a community version of what SD/Nexon does during the week but from a player perspective.
Yep pretty much, but its more competitively focused, and thanks for doing that
@42YnNaD I liked the show. There were some great talks all around and it was nice to hear people’s opinions on a few topics.
Quick feedback:
- The stream was stuttering so bad at times the audio would cut out. I had to switch to another tab and not watch due to this. Your game was obviously playing fine but something was wrong either with your setup or Twitch potentially.
- It would be pretty neat if you could get skype cams going for everyone talking while somebody is playing. Would put a face with the voices.
I hope you keep it up as I definitely wouldn’t mind seeing more of these shows produced!
So answering question 1. I believe it was a twitch thing because they changed some stuff on the site, such as how the pause button, volume button, and ect look. So i think that had something to do with it. And I will see what i can do about the cam idea
Twitch is moving over to HTML5 at some point. I know they at least migrated to the HTML5 controls but I don’t know if the video feed itself is their flash feed or HLS feed.
Dunno. It really looked like PC lag but your game wasn’t lagging so that’s just an odd one.
I hung in for about the first 30 minutes I had some feedback for you as well. Not sure of anything that happened after that.
The gameplay seemed really distracting and I felt it took away from your personal attention to the topics but it also distracted the viewers from the conversation. Part of that issue is your keyboard is quite loud and with the rapid keystrokes playing requires it made the audio really cluttered. Maybe consider pre-recorded gameplay displaying what is being talked about instead? Might be harder to manage, but it would distract less from the show itself. You could also do one of the ‘Talking Head’ style formats but include images of what you plan to be talking about.
While it is supposed to be a talk show, several times you responded to a viewer on Twitch and ended up talking over the people and topics who were supposed to be the center of the stream. While this normally isn’t a big deal in a stream, this was supposed to be a talk show. It seemed disrespectful to the people talking. It might be better in the future to respond via text unless it is something related to what is being talked about.
In the world of Twitch viewer interaction is something people like to see. I would love to see the talk show idea becoming not only a place where pre-determined topics are covered, but where viewers can provide input or opinion questions for the people talking in the show. Similar to how radio shows have a listener call in. Might be worth thinking about. They obviously wouldn’t call into the chat, but they could post in the chat and the people in the show could talk about their point.
On the same line as Amerika’s post, I would like to see who is talking. Or at least see somebody who is involved in the conversation. Makes the show feel a bit more connected to the viewers.
Just my opinion. Feel free to ignore
