There aren’t enough people in the pool to get balanced games.

When your first thread is closed, you’re generally better off not making another one that is more or less the same 5 minutes later.

Isn’t it a pub game? I see no ranks like “unqualified/silver/gold/cobalt”. Pub games have no restriction in levels.
You’ve got 1 unfair game. Big deal…

It’s a pub game. There is essentially no matchmaking. It throws people into games that already have people.

I can see this is a pub, but it’s also an issue in comp. Sometimes I wonder if there they use the same matchmaking algorithm for both of them :stuck_out_tongue:
But yea, there is no balance around levels or anything for this game.

That is no pub game, its a 5vs5 format and ive seen many times in comp the ranks are not displayed.

Hi guys, first i had problem buy attaching a picture to my first post, so they closed it.
This was a comp game, not a pub.
I understand, when the pool is low that i am matched with higher levels. But i think the program does a bad job to deploy the high level player to both teams. I never leave a game so ne and my team get killed 100 times at spawn point, cause the lack of our skill. This is a beta, and i think we should report such things.

I’m level 23 and I have to explain this to every whiny level 6 I go against.

Competitive doesn’t factor in level. Level is meaningless. It ONLY uses your Competitive rank. And since almost all players are placed in high Silver/low Gold and have to grind their way out, high levels play low levels.

Maybe, at level 5-8 you aren’t ready for competitive? Your Merc pool is likely small, you likely don’t know the maps inside and out and you likely haven’t mastered the fundamentals. This has been true for almost everybody I’ve faced below level 10, except for a few with massive FPS experience in other games who’s skills translated over well.

But blaming level for your loss won’t help you improve. Rather than cry about it, learn from that player and see why he crushed you. I’ve had multiple low level players add me and ask me for advice.

Also, those high levels are likely teamed up. Obviously, premades will not be split and there aren’t enough players to make a premade of 4-5 players wait for another premade, although we’ve noticed we tend to pull more premade groups than games with 5 random players.

Didn’t they fix the matchmaking? It’s so much better now in my experience, I’m level 10, never been matched with a level 20+ since the update.

The system is setup to find a solid match for you first at the cost of a longer wait time. If that wait threshold is crossed then it will try to find the next available skill match for you. This is what happens when there isn’t a lot of people queuing at the same time.

The bad news is you took a pounding. The good news is your personal ELO didn’t suffer because it factored in their skill level when calculating your new ELO and it most likely didn’t move at all…and neither did their ELO. But had you won you would have gotten a huge boost.

The higher ranked players didn’t want to play you either because they literally had nothing to gain and everything to lose.

ok, thats are great news for me. I would be interesting if we can see our elo and how much we get up/down after a comp match?
