Comp kira?

(SirMurder) #1

So yeah im a comp player and i got most mercs wich are solid in comp. i.e Fragger , Nader , Sawboss , Bushdanker u know like the mercs from the current meta

My question is How viable is kira in comp

(watsyurdeal) #2

Not at all, honestly the more health you have the better off you are.

I saw her on a last comp stream I seen, once or twice. Situational, of course, but still enjoyable to see. Also that laserbeam on underground right to the C4 in that TAG team match on Dirtycups, TREMENDOUS

Contrary to popular belief, I’ve seen people make Kira and Proxy work in high Gold/Cobalt comp

Don’t write them off and their abilities just because of their low HP pool

(Rewolf) #5

She is viable depending on the situation. Very good for destroying constructions in open air, last stage on Chapel to clear the area or to hold down the dyno for (the last) X seconds

(Denzel) #6

She is very good on Chapel, Dome and last stage of Trainyard.

Only for pulling out a lazer to stop a plant/defuse. That’s about it honestly. You shouldn’t be maining her, not even for the weapons. Better off playing Fragger or even… Arty.

N8o’s wise words

Viable in open, big maps like Chapel, Dome and Trainyard. You really want to make use of that speed and those assault rifles to be constantly flanking and being a hit-and-run nightmare.

I main Kira and I rarely lose comp matches. I’ll probably be one of the few to defend her.

It’s about playing style, there are many great players that use squishy mercs and are awesome with them (I became an elite operative with manning Proxy and would top frag with her as a squishy, and it was primarily with positioning and utilization of her speed. And I also went with the unpopular selection of the hollunds as her primary. Just to show that you should not limit yourself and your explorations in this game based on how others fail feel with certain mercs)

With lower HP and higher speed you just have to engage with Kira and other squishies differently. I think she’s more fun in aggressive moments because you get to push unexpectedly hard, faster.

I enjoy faster pace and I’ve been really successful with Kira. I use her for every map.

P.S.
If anyone has a problem with Kira, you can take it up with me in-game. On the other hand, I really don’t care that people underestimate the mercs that I’m mastering. It’s a win for me.

^Memesley, the lord of squishies has spoken.

100% Viable. Don’t be fooled however, Kira’s true strength lies in v57-ing until her enemies die from sheer kawaiiiiiii~

People look too much into health. It’s common sense really. Sure you have lower health, but you’re also a much faster, smaller target, thus you are harder to hit. It’s counter-intuitive to argue health is all that matters. It really just depends on your play style.

As already stated, Kira is the best of the 3 air strikers in my opinion for clearing out an open area, and I think I’ve used those two examples before as well - Last stage of Trainyard, and last stage of Chapel. I’ve also found her handy for the first stage of Chapel when you have 3-4 surrounding the EV trying to provide cover for the guy repairing. Her laser is also great for defending the last 5-10 seconds of a C4 plant. If you can beam her laser down no one can even go close to the C4. First stage of Trainyard, last stage of Underground, first stage of Terminal. You can even use her laser to block off a door way for a good amount of time (thinking first stage of Terminal for example off the start when the attacking team rushes through the tunnel side to come out the door way)

I really struggle to hit Kira. I will often put up 45% or higher accuracy when tracking Skyhammers / Fraggers etc, but against someone who knows how to bunny hop around with Kira some times I’m lucky to hit even 30%

She’s great if you ask me.
