commander abilities

is anyone not using deployo-cover and artillery? those two feel too essential, maybe they need to become fixed abilities or the other special abilities need to be powerd up?

or maybe some combinations of other abilities work well with quick high damage or tanking strategies, have not been able to try that myself and not seen anyone successfully do that…

It depends on the map.
Sometimes I don’t use deployo-cover and replace it with either the health drop or the damage reducing pills and use it with light bodyweights. Drop it pre-emptively so that it’s easier to grab when needed and with the light weights they can move a bit more to get to it.

I’ve tried to use other abilities but the deploy-o-cover and artillery are staples in every match regardless for me. Too much can be done with artillery like knocking unit’s out of cover, shooting them then deploying cover so they can’t return fire easily. Have had absolutely no need for 1 point scan and the only thing you can use with it is 3 point fist box which I don’t use much. I should try to use the other abilities more but the others just seem too useful.

1-point scan might sound goofy, but it’s pretty good at shutting down Agent ambushes and ruining other surprises. My preferred loadout in 26pt games is laser-artillery-scan because while deployo-cover is situational, Artillery is basically the best, and you’d have to be crazy to not use it.

I will say I preferred deployo-cover when it was a one-use ability - this made placement consideration important, as it is right now most people who I’ve seen use it use it as ineffective cannon fodder and never learn otherwise (and if they’re particularly unskilled, a cluster point).

I rarely use the deploy-o-cover.
I rather go for the Laser beam and bees once I unlocked the bees.
I fear good melee-players althaugh I rarely see one.
the laser beam is a punish for getting close to my commander, but I rarely get to use it in normal plays …

the health crate is in my opinion way better than the blockade . it also blocks ways and you can use it.
it’s just that you can allround better with the artillery.

the painkiller effects are hardcore if you use them at juan dacova or ivan tkilya. you will find yourself getting hit by hundreds of bullets - while hopefully firing back.

The only thing people put on “cloakable” units is snipers and they are rarely ever close enough to be in the “scan” radius. Or can you scan anywhere on the map? I haven’t even tried it because I rarely EVER play anyone who uses C4 or Spidermines. And since I don’t have laser or bees, artillery, deploy and health are my staples.

I often use the combo catnadain mentioned and my arse has been saved a lot by that 1 pts scan. Especially back when you had madams and Pete’s crawling all over ghosted with chainsaws and whatnot.
Bee attack is prolly my favorite ability tho since it appeals to my durdle setups and like the dotting/hitnrun strat.
Anyway chaos. The scan is thrown like a healbox but the animation is hidden to your opponent.

Detecto-Sweep was much more important before as the melee weapons were really powerful and it was critical to find Madame sneaking to you with Ax. Detecto-Sweep is still an option but I would love to see other 1-point abilities so that you can use Sweep and some other ability in 14 point match.

cant see y aảtillery’s essential, scan is good and apparently for advanced player, not inexperienced one

most of time, i’d go for bees + deploy, or deploy+health+pain killer

Future development or aesthetic purposes. How silly would it look if only 3 boxes were there leaving a gaping hole for us OCD players to wince at? Haha. Most likely at least 1 more planned 1 cost ability in the future.
