Hey guys !
So i’v stop playing Xt in the last 3-4 month, mostly due to acces to wildstar beta, and because i wana play other shooter for comparaison. I have to admit, since the old quake gods give me a rocket luncher on a PQL ruleset server i haven’t play other shooter more as 30 min. But i’m back now and this is my ‘first’ comeback impresion after 3-4 hours of play.
1 - UI and performence
First thing : nexon luncher. It’s very slow, still no freind list, it just eat my ‘bande passante’ and i don’t understand why it take ages for lunch the game ! The limbo feel so better, more polish, more clear. The merc selection screen is nice and clear, but i think split the merc based on their class can be nice. The loby screen is nice, we cans choose our squad in this, we see allies merc so place for strategie and teamwork ! The game UI is simple, clear and efficient, but i would like see some scale adjustement.
I remember playing at 20-30 fps before when now i’m around 40-50, not perfect but mutch better. I got no sipke, warping or ping issue for the time i’ve play.
2 - Gameplay
First trouth : the game feel weird. I don’t know if it’s the mouvement system or the speed but there is something who feel sooo weird. I had a realy hard time in the first hour of play, something who not happend when i back in other games (quake live cs:go w:et UT2004). It seems the mouvement system have been improved, that better of what i remember. But IMO there is still a lot of work to do on this point for got a good fluidity. Before i stop i remember a bad gunplay : obvious spread, ridiculously small hitbox, gigantic recoil. Actualy I ENJOY THE GUNPLAY, I hit what i aim for, the spread raisonable the recoil is a little to hight for my taste but nothing gamebreaker.
3 - Mercs
I haven’t try all the merc but i can give my trouth on the few i have test.
Showbonez : Still a so great merdic, look like his smg have less spread and more dmg as i remember, that’s great !
Bushwatcher : new smg, verry efficient. Seems like the turret detection have been reduce but it’s still very effectiv if well placed.
Nader : the nadluncher as a ability is awsome ! now nader as a chance in a mid/long range duel. Maybe the nades regen is a little to high.
Rhino : First time i’v play this char. He seems a little OP : unlimited amo on a very powerfull weapon. But he is slow, very slow.
Sparks : The revive gun is fun, hudge damage and long range revive. The healthpack are not effectiv enough for play this char as a solo medic.
I have been nicely surprized by the direction the game is taking. I’v read u gona work on the mouvement system and that’s realy a great news !
