I’m sure if an emp had the radius of the heartbeat sensor and only deactivated equipment (never destroyed it) and had a sufficient cool down, it would work. Whether it be throwable like the heartbeat sensor or placeable like the healing station is up for discussion. Obviously phantom should get between 20-50 points on how many things he disabled, but it would also be good if the owners of the disabled equipment were given points as if they had just placed their equipment down again. Also up for discussion.

Yeah and his grenades are his only ability. This is a second ability for Phantom, no other character has a second ability anywhere near as good as this would be.

@Tezle if the EMP is balanced in CD and other stats it could work well and also i think that the enemy would notice that their deployables aint working.

TBH i’d love it if Phantom was given a EMP jammer/nade for a secondary but sadly i just have the feeling that it won’t happen.

Yeah, I don’t get it. There reason was that Phantom’s role is to kill people which is the role that the other recons have along with providing some utility. Phantom doesn’t really provide any utility. He’s solid, especially with the recent change, but it doesn’t fix his comp viability without giving him parity with the other recon classes.

The easy and quick solution is simply giving him a spotting ability. I’m not sure why they would be against giving him utility as it’s the best way to keep him balanced while also not allowing him to infuriate people through cheap kills. And he’d have some potential use in competitive play finally (even his original release version wasn’t competitively viable).

Yeah i know now brother @Xavien it’s pretty sad but i guess that’s how it’s gonna be.

Also @MissMurder can you close my thread cuz as we all know there will be no secondary abilities for Phantom so the peoples opinion wont matter any more.

Doesn’t have to be GG. Brainstorm ideas that work with Dev’s vision of Phantom.
