Color Coded Playername

Hello all, my first topic here :slight_smile:

The title says it all. Any idea about the ability to put colours in the name? Was fun in ETQW as was it in ET.

It seems to be a standard part of the Idtech engines.

Being that the aura around players will be color coded, I’m not sure rainbow names would fit into the game very well.

God, it’ll be like all those tards in MW2. Their Steam name is some muddled mess of unreadable crap cause they wanna look pretty whilst playing MW2.

I’m not talking about rainbow colours :stuck_out_tongue: but just to give some little edge to the names rather then just random white. I had no problem with it in ETQW nor ET…

Actually, you can use a different nick ingame and on STEAM on well coded game like TF2.

I’ll say this again:

Give me an ability to override color coded playernames on client side. I want to be able to turn all your rainbow names into plain grey or white. Bonus points if there’s a way to strip silly characters which act as decorations.
