CoD2-like textures...

(Flippy) #1

hey all…
im looking for textures for my map but didnt find ANYTHING i liked in the standard textures…
i need a road texture and a debris/rubble texture which look like the ones in CoD2 (in the map “Wallendar” for example… (screenshot added at the bottom)
some textures for the houses would be nice too…

i searched a long time but didnt find anything that even slightly resembled them…
i also tried getting them straight from CoD, but i didnt find them and i also doubt it is legal to do this…

so my question, does anybody have any textures that look like these?
or is it legal to get them from CoD2? (and if yes, how?) I guess it’s not as you have to pay for CoD2…

screenshot: (the green “X”'s are in the textures i mean…

btw please dont give me “you might want to ask on a Cod2 forum” cos i need the textures for ET ofcourse… i just want textures that resemble the ones i said so i can use them for my map… (they dont have to be 100% the same ofcourse, as long as they look a bit like them…)

and also, when you find some, please verify that i can use them without getting raped for stealing someones textures…

Try the TUTORIALS AND ET MAPPING RESOURCES sticky, lots of links to texture sites there.

Rock type textures

Plenty more where they came from, on one of them is a riddle. Solve it and I’ll make my entire collection available to you (you’ll know what I mean when you see it). I have gazillions more.

Some of them are tileable, some aren’t, you’ll just have to work it out.

[To anyone finding this in a future search, my usual file host is down for maintenence, so there is a 30 day limit on this file, PM me and I’ll make it available again with a more permanent host]

Over 100mb of textures

This is a fairly large download, so make sure you have some time to get it. There are all the textures you will ever need on there. It uploaded at only 56k even though I have an 8mb connection, never used this host before so let me know if there are any problems with it.

No credit needed. Those textures are from hours and hours of trawling the net on my behalf, but it’s still (mainly - some of em are my own) someone elses work.

I don’t have COD 2, but COD UO used .dds files for textures. Most likely COD 2 is the same. These basically have the mip-maped versions of the textures included in the file. This file type does not work with ET.

But, if you have Photoshop, Nvidia makes a pluggin that you can use to read and write your own .dds textures. They will also make bump map textures for you that that you can save as .tga or .jpg and these DO work with ET.

You can get the Nvidia tools here:
