It was said on the humor tone, but actually those are really expensive ! 5 dollars a box is pretty insane, especially for what it does. 
Meanwhile opening TF2 crates costs around 2 euros in Europe (Iâll let you guys do the conversions). Iâd say it may be wiser to halve the price.

If anything, this tells me what not to spend any money on - the chance to get a cobalt loadout (12/160) for a merc I like (10/12), with a weapon I prefer (2/3) and perks that are not rubbish (maybe 8/10 ?) is about 6%.

@Sniff from what I see these are not true duplicates, you actually got the two Cobalt variants for that Arty loadout. You should be able to confirm that if you look at them on the preview, they should have different merc and gun skins.

They are different from the Obisidian loadouts received from the event cases. His are Founders loadouts. When the game was in Alpha you could buy a founders pack, get some IRL swag and those Obsidian loadouts. No longer available.

3 are founders, which was given to people who bought a founders pack or have been part of the game for a very long time. Only one is obsidian.

Yeah, it sucks that you can get repeats. We all know it can happen as we have probably all gotten repeat Bronzes, Silvers and maybe even Gold cards. But since this is a system based off of CCGâs and you can get repeats there too then thatâs just sort of how things play out.
I totally understand the purchase though. I too make enough money to not care about buying a bunch of packs but I tend to stop myself from being impulsive because I like to invest extra money and see what happens. If I wasnât doing that Iâd probably be buying a ton of cases too because supporting SD with some purchases is the least I could do for a game I truly enjoy. If we were talking about Clash of Clans or something like that Iâd simply shake my head and not say anything to you about your choices but DB is a bit different. Both are setup to try and get cash from people but DB at least has real value in the gameplay and isnât just a bunch of F2P designs that was developed to psychologically hook a person before being turned into a âgameâ.

I was not assuming that you like the actual prices (pretty high, especially adding mercs and future goodies shop will have), i was just stating that people buying so much cases tends to confort them in those prices.
Sure the game has a nice potential and deserve some support. But for a competitive FPS, you want as much people playing the game as possible, and at the moment mercs and best loadouts are gated behind a rather steep prices cash shop.
Iâm always more enclined to pay 10$ here and there to support a worthy game, than feeling forced to pay for every bit of content just to be able to play how i want and compete with others.
Path of Exile for example deserved my money, and i gladly paid for stash tabs, skins, etc, even tho you get the full game right from the start.
