I’m mostly disappointed by this update, not because I’m against the changes but rather that just by themselves they are not great. All that’s changed is that more people die to abilities. The meta and strategy isn’t more interesting. The mercs don’t feel like they contribute anything more unique or significant to the team. There’s no difference between me killing someone with a grenade, an airstrike, a mine, a molotov, etc. There’s no incentive to play as a specific merc class to help the team outside of what I’d frag the most people with. I’d rather just play TDM or CTF, etc and just frag till I got bored in the current state of the game. Are we ever going to see any real game changing updates in the future?

A scope/sniper is harder for a Lower tier player to be effective with.

I would vote for deleting the sniper rifle if they promised to reduce the range of shotties. Still taking stupid damage at range :confused:

Definitely agree with you (and Inferno) about abilities - All that’s changed is that more people die to abilities and spread was increased on a lot of guns :confused:

pretty sure I read this from a dev ? before, view shakes but crosshair doesn’t actually move off target

Did something change before this patch ? I remember people whining about excessive spread/recoil (rightly so) so why in gods name would they increase it by some absurd numbers, not to mention +40% more kick(as if it wasnt annoying enough trying to hit someone) while getting shot and slowing down the game.

They either decided for call of duty game already or there is someone insane working at SD 8D

The recoil and kick is perfectly manageable. The view kick in ET was way more intense by comparison, and the recoil is pretty mild.

It does deliberately kick up the crosshair-aim as well. Means you can tap a sniper at distance to disrupt their aim and prevent them from getting that headshot.

Not necessarily against it, but what amount are we talking about here as well? Since the ‘view’ part kicks up half a screen, whats the crosshair-aim raise up?

for me personal the weapons spread and recoil is too high.i rly have problems too hit enemys.the game is faster than cs go(which i play currently,mostly because my teammates play it) which let it be rly hard too keep an decent aim up since the current big recoil and spread doesnt fit with the game.idk if i have to use more IS or burst. also it would for sure be easier if the game wouldnt lag like hell for me.from a personal point this patch even more hurts the not that aim skilled players.
Thats all maybe managable, but what rly piss me off is the spam. if 2 molotovs cut of one way for an entire push., and even you pass that you get killed by airstrike. the molotov works in cs for one reason :cs go is a very slow game where 10 seconds arent that much,in DB you ruin an entire attackers spawnwave with two molotovs.

I can tell everyone that Sniping especially at close range is a lot harder. Mid to long is about the same just need to get use to the FOV change.

I am also only going to comment on Balance while playing with under or around 50 ping.

Does this apply to other weapons as well? Like semi-autos and bolt rifles?

It’s universal - all weapons, hip and sighted. Hitting your target will disrupt their aim.

Does crouching diminish this?

Yes, that is the intention, to reward strategic movement and give the player who ‘gets the drop’ a slight upper-hand.

Crouching does not diminish it.

just make shotguns consistent and not OP.
it should be a nice nub-friendly mediocre gun.

for this do not use falloff dmg (i hate when weapons are balanced with falloff dmg. it realy messes up the gun feel)
and lower max dmg.

basically: take the quakelive shotgun.
a great, consistent finish weapon, that will kill you only in melee-range

Getting damage first is plenty enough of a reward. I’m tired of whoever shoots first wins games. People enjoy having a chance, and hate things where you die and can’t do anything about it. Having that chance is what makes the game skill based. Having the “getting the drop” also promotes camping, which has never been loved, especially on a fast-paced game like this one.
