Slow down player feedback by 36 hours vs collect weeks of unusable stats, personally I can see why they did it.

It’s not the run bob that people are talking about it’s the involuntary camera/eye movements when shooting, reloading, throwing ammo, etc.

We want to try and track down the performance issues you’re experiencing but it’s pretty hard to do right now as we’re lacking information and can’t re-produce the issues here in the office. If you’re having a drop in your average FPS since the patch (ignoring the stutters that occur on connection), please can you give us the following information:

[li]Are you running the same video settings now as pre-patch? Remember they were reset and some things might now be on that you had off before[/li][li]Are you using config options outside of what is on the video menu?[/li][li]If you are using the video menu what settings are you on? (ideally if you are using the default low, medium or high settings and still having issues then it’ll be easier for us to reproduce the issues)[/li][li]What are your system specs?[/li][li]Is your FPS lower all the time?[/li][li]If not when is it lower? 8v8 servers? During effects? During combat? During lots of sound?[/li][/ul]

This information will make it much easier for us to find any bugs and fix them

  1. i gave up on high-fps configs since winter or so. so i use only ingame menu for several latest patches.
  2. FPS always goes down midfight. the more players i see the less FPS i have.

this is 100%.

  1. 8v8 becomes much more laggy, not only FPS-wise. will go in more detail tonight, or tomorrow.

I changed all config settings i did change in the last patch. So yes i used config option outside the video menu
All Video Menu Settings are off or low
FPS is always lower. For example on a 12 Slots Server Waterloo about 20-30 FPS less now. My average FPS on Waterloo 12 Slo bevor Patch was 70
FPS is also lower on a empty server. But can’t say how much. Maybe 10-20 FPS

The only change to my config is to set texture groups to 64, in order to get playable frame rates (and see) I have to now play at 90 FOV. That makes the game feel slow and sluggish. In fact the game now feels slower than most console centric MMS games, the game has always run badly in the same areas of the same maps. I am sure echo should tell you this, the only difference now is that explosive (air strike) spam and 8v8 make it worse. There is also what seems to be random stutters (like if you have v-sync on) on empty servers in certain places of maps, this could be crossfire however.

Edit.

The FPS drops when firing weapons, possible due to the camera shake when firing. Also the random stutter only seems to happen when moving into a area for the first time.

So all options in the video menu are the same as they were last patch if you check them? It’s been pointed out by one config user that if you run the same config as before without turning off some options in the video menu then quite often the config is being changed by those options, which could be the cause. Please double check that stuff is off that you think is off in the video settings menu.

My config was deleted with new patch, so I ran the game changed all the in game options to low or off then changed this section of the config.

I have geometry detail at medium, character detail at low and every effect off except one frame interval and post processing. My performance has never been better, specifically in 8v8 in games.

My feedback after 1 day of intense playing is pretty much the same as others.

  • performance issues. FPS dopped by 20+ depending on cfg. On my ultra low modified cfg I got 150 to 200+ fps before the patch, now its like 100-150 (and yes i set all the new graphical options on low). With no modified cfg, just everything on low I get like 20 fps less and it feels unsmooth… It seems like it doesnt matter how many players are on the server, its always less than before. Specs: i5 2500k, HD6870, 8gb ram

  • visibility problems - this is the most annoying to me. I cant see opponents in many areas if they arent moving. My teammates look the same as before, just enemies tend to blend into the environments. They are darker and matt.

  • camera bobbing/swinging - I just hate it, all off it and now apparently you cant get rid of it completely. And this camera swing when you die makes me feel really uncomfortable, which I find surprising since I have never had any motion sickness symptoms before.

  • 8vs8 obj mode - imo the only map suited for 12+ players is Dome. On the other maps I was just frustrated if I was attacking. Spawn time changes havent really changed anything at least I couldnt spot it after 1 day, except “wtf why I have 30s respawn while attacking”

  • Dome. After couple of rounds it feels like a really good map: big enough, many routes, side objs. I like it,

  • Hit registration feels better to me now

  • Good changes to the first obj on WC, but why no changes to the last one, which was considered the worst part of the map?

+/- New carry obj on Trainyard is not bad, but its not good either. I would rather see old carry obj.

  • Drugs on Bridge !!! Too bad first obj is still so hard to break through for the attackers, especially in 8v8

+/- Martyrdom. It was useless now its maybe too effective? I cant make up my mind yet.

? Were there any changes to:

  • movement? because when I started to play i could swore something was a little different
  • hitboxes? It feels easier to shoot heads for me
  • Skyhammer’s weapon rof? Feels like its higher now
