Climbing over with teamwork

Likewise I’m sure they had a great reason for considering it in the first place, but to me it sounds like a horrid idea. I don’t mind when characters can interact with each other (like tossing ammo, or using items on each other), but not in a sense where you need both players to … “physically” work together to complete a simple task. This is a very vague statement because I’m not sure how to explain it in this context. Eh, I guess, imagine if you tried to toss ammo to someone by pressing the action key, but at the same time they had to press the action key to catch it…

Anyway, being able to pass through other players is easily a good feature. Realistic/simulation games where you get stuck on some guy who is prone in front of you and you can’t even walk or step over him? Ugh!

The way I described how the triggers work, do not sound complicated to me.

How buttons work when Player 1 (helper) want s to help player 2 (climber) to get on a crate:

  • Player 1 simply holds SMART button while standing still close to the crate

  • While player 2 simply runs while holding SMART button towards player 1

complex process?

Everything’s easy in theory. In theory it’s easy to travel back in time… doesn’t mean it can be pulled off. They said they tested and it didn’t work to a satisfactory level. What you can do is wait till the SDK is released and mod it yourself… in theory.

Apart from Bezzys response, heres another one:

[QUOTE=Rahdo;194399]RE: the loss of W:ET style climbing, well, that’s what we have acrobatic body types for, so you can scramble up those walls you used to have to make a human pyramid to get up. If any Tom Dick or Harry can climb up each other to get up that wall, it’s a major blow the usefulness and specialness of being a quick acrobatic guy…

Indeed . . . but the heavy body type can’t get to where mediums can and mediums can’t reach where lights can, so my 2 cents were an effortless try to give a chance of being able to go to where it should be possible, because I don’t go to the gym lift weighs… and I can tell you I can lift up some1 a little bigger than me but not by lot!

Heavies should be able to become structures to enable other heavies to playable areas where alone they can’t, and so on with mediums and even lights.

This does not sound as key feature but helping a heavy by a short-cut sounds key to me since he takes half the time to get to the objective. This is a team effort to speed up the travels between battle front and re-spawn, fast reinforcements are a plus! specially if they are the heavy type ;D

I still have high hopes to see this implemented, sooner or later. Imo This feature fits well in Brink. Too bad it looks like they don’t have the time or/and resources to get this done, nonetheless… I’ll pray they’ll get it! every night before sleep

-player one has to stand in a good spot holding smart
-player two ignores him and runs away
-player one stands there like an idiot

or

-player one moves and player 2 wastes him time

2 of the Developers have told you no, and the reasons. I pray you’ll wake up and smell the toast

They are not designed by default to get to the objective in half the time.
BUT there are speed buffs that essentially help them get to the objective faster, and I would imagine there would be universal abilities that increase their default speed as well.

It’d be funny if heavies could pick up lights and hurl them over walls.

sort of like that?
