Client/server game mismatch

hello
i’m playing ET for a pretty long time now, and now i’ve got some errors showing up,
some thimes it’s:
VM_Create on cgame failed
and somethimes:
Empty CDkey is not Allowed on this server!
but since a week or 2 this error always shows up:
Client/server game mismatch: ‘Enemy Territory/ETpro’
I redownloaded and reinstallt ET for 2 times… i’m using ETpatch 2_6_0, ETpro 3_2_0 but it all doens’t made the errors go away…
Who know’s what to do?

VM_Create on cgame failed means you need more RAM (I think). Sometimes it can also mean you need to set sv_pure to 0 if you’re map testing (actually I think this might be a different game like WolfSP, but I remember I had this problem once and doing sv_pure 0 fixed it). Empty CDKey was a problem PunkBuster was causing, you need to run pbweb.exe if you haven’t already (Wolf - ET/pb/pbweb.exe). The mismatch error means you might be trying to connect to a 2.55 or 2.56 server. Also, make SURE you’re using 2.60… go into ET and open the console (~). It will display your ET version in the lower right corner of the console.

No. It means cgame failed to start for whatever reason. VM_ in this case refers to Virtual Machine (even though they are native code in RTCW and ET, the gamecode modules cgame, qagame and ui are still refered to as VMs).

buNny:
when you have re-installed, did you actually delete everything in your ET directory, or did you just use the uninstaller ? If you only used the uninstaller, it leaves a lot of junk behind.

It sounds like you are getting problems from mixed versions, so a truely clean re-install would be one way to fix it. If you have any .cfg files or maps you want to save, make sure you copy them somewhere else before you delete the directory.

well, I had my ET deleted for a couple of times as i said, and at least ones i used the uninstall option, but an other time i deleted everything…
it might be that i did not delete everything but that looks crazy to me…
isn’t their another way you guys think?
