Clear screenshots

(SteelRat) #1

What are the commands to clear all stuff from the display to take a clear screenshot? I used to have them all written down but I have lost my notes and I can not find any hints by searching here in the forum.

It’s fairly simple you can do it by toggleing it by pressing a button:
(you can do it on another way but i like to do it this way)

(You can choose another key to toggle if you want, other than F8)
Type the following in the console: “/bind f8 exec hudoff.cfg” (without the quotes) after you have made the config files, and put them in the etmain folder.

  • when you press f8 the hudoff config will be executed, which means that the settings in the hudoff config will be set.

  • and when you press f8 again the hudon config will be executed.

note: some settings can only be set to “0” (off) when in devmap mode (you can use cheats in that mode) type: /devmap mapname.

paste this code into a text editor and save it as hudoff.cfg:

bind f8 exec hudon.cfg
seta cg_drawCompass "0"
seta cg_drawNotifyText "0"
seta cg_drawTeamOverlay "0"
seta cg_drawCrosshairNames "0"
seta cg_drawCrosshairPickups "0"
seta cg_drawBuddies "0"
seta cg_drawRoundTimer "0"
seta cg_drawReinforcementTime "0"
seta cg_drawStatus "0"
seta cg_draw2d "0"

paste this code into a text editor and save it as hudon.cfg:

bind f8 exec hudoff.cfg
seta cg_drawCompass "1"
seta cg_drawNotifyText "1"
seta cg_drawTeamOverlay "2"
seta cg_drawCrosshairNames "1"
seta cg_drawCrosshairPickups "1"
seta cg_drawBuddies "1"
seta cg_drawRoundTimer "1"
seta cg_drawReinforcementTime "1"
seta cg_drawStatus "1"
seta cg_draw2d "1"

OR you could drop down the console and type in this

/cg_drawgun 0
/cg_draw2d 0

Clean Screenshot:
set scrshotcln “vstr scrshotrdy; wait 50; screenshotJPEG; wait 10; vstr scrshotdone”
set scrshotrdy “cg_drawCrossHair -1; cg_drawTeamOverlay 0; cg_drawCompass 0; cg_drawGun 0; cg_HUDAlpha 0; cg_TeamChatsOnly 1; cg_TeamChatTime 0; cg_drawStatus 0”
set scrshotdone “cg_drawStatus 1; cg_TeamChatTime 8000; cg_TeamChatsOnly 0; cg_HUDAlpha 2.0; Toggle cg_drawGun; Toggle cg_drawCompass; cg_drawTeamOverlay 1; cg_drawCrossHair 7”
bind F7 “vstr scrshotcln”

This is my screenshot-script from the autoexec,
he make automatically the screenies in the .jpg-format.

Go into spectator mode, then, /cg_draw2d 0
There you go. I love how people make everything so complicated

(GRouZER) #6

Well like i posted it it’s easy for him to see what you can turn off in the hud

(StormShadow) #7

yeah, true… its just interesting to see the type of super fancy configs ppl have just for screenies

(HerrK) #8

That have nothing to do with complicated!
It’s an unique entry in the autoexec, for people will screenshots ingame and not in the spectator-mode.
Have nothing to do with “super fancy configs ppl”, tsssssss… :disgust:

A 5 line config for taking a screenshot is ‘fancy’ and overly complicated imo.

Thanks a lot for the answers!
I’ll post some screens later today :stuck_out_tongue:

(GRouZER) #11

well didn’t you learned more from my config? (what you can disable in your hud)
