I watch all of his vids and am a subscriber and have been for a few years now. Love all his videos. This one was good. He usually picks cool games to talk about.

I’m always going to love this game. It’s one of the greats IMO. Just got off a reeaally intense game playing security on early launch. I was hustling hard throwing caltrops, grenades and sticky bombs every chance I could between hacking the missile controls. It happened to be a really long game too, like 40+ minutes but the fight was so tooth and nail that I doubted we would win but we did in the end. Whew, scored 20852xp which is the most I’ve earned in a match. Brink is the best!

Interesting he talks about enjoying it best with a microphone - I agree but unfortunately the game’s standard mode isn’t set up that way.

Decent review, even though he glossed over a few of the PS3 issues.

Last night I was playing with Blarfenghar, and his friend Turtle and we were Security on Terminal. We playing full humans vs humans. We got the hack part done no problem, but were getting stoned on cracking the safe. With 10 seconds left in the match, I made my way to the safe as an engy even though my primary for this dude is Soldier and Operative and zero Engineer, by blazing a trail killing fools left and right. I told Blar to cover my ass as I tried to crack the safe. He was covering me as a medic even though he was zero Medic. I got knocked down with 5 seconds left and we had the fix at 94%. He got me back up at 2 seconds to go, and I got back on the fix, and another teammate joined me. We cracked the safe as time expired, then pushed our way right to the delivery point. Game over! It was Epic!

“Standard mode isn’t set up that way”??? You must just mean when it comes to randoms (when you first join a match) or those not in your fireteam, any online friends that join are auto in the fireteam and can talk to them the sec they join and anyone else can just be invted to (or request to join) the fireteam if they want to talk.

Sure it isn’t perfect but ask 100 people what they disslike about online multiplayer and I gurantee a decent amount will say they don’t enjoy the public voice chats of other games that have a bunch of foul mouthed people and those that blast music (or heavy feedback/echo) in the background. Sure they could mute them but is that any different from making/joining fireteams in this game, its just the other way around, you work to talk to people who also want to talk and those that couldn’t care less about talking or hearing others just play the game.

Yes, it’s not set up that way. You’ve said it yourself, you have to set up a Fireteam. Muting (at least in other games) is a far easier option than the process of creating and inviting to a Fireteam.

I’ve met more decent people than I have the noisy idiots in the public environment. You show me a hundred that complain about it and I’ll show you a hundred that don’t.

I’m certainly in the latter group, it’s annoying that an opportunity to make friends is removed to protect a group of people who are clearly not ready to play a teen rated game or are just too plan stupid/lazy to mute difficult people. <hugs L4D2 and his friends list>

Exactly. Even after the failure of this game there are still people that defend horrific design decisions that have proven to not only be unpopular but a huge contributor to the failure of the game’s longevity. You would think that fanboys would want good design decisions so that the opposite would happen but they are too busy blindly defending crap that they don’t even realize it’s hurting the very game they defend so hard.

Would it be impossible to mod this game on ps3? I’m not normally a console gamer when it comes to titles like brink but this game deserves some scripting and modding. Is it impossible?
