Class balance issues.

I’m confused by “aimpunch”

Vassili is fun to get jumpshots with. Didn’t play a lot of comp but once you get going with him it’s easy fragging sometimes. (74/35 is not too shabby, pub match though). Just don’t stand in the open and get your kill when you peak or jump so you don’t get outgunned.

I think cooking is okay but something about it makes it wayyy too strong.

Aura’s healing… well standing in it makes you pretty much invincible sometimes. Hide the health station behind a wall and have your entire team shoot and hide behind cover. Pretty easy.

Guys, this is a PSA: don’t post when you’re angry, tired and intoxicated.
I have no memory of hitting “post” on this one, I just meant to write it to let out some steam, but I didn’t plan to put it out there
Well then, let me read through this train wreck.

Remember my post? I’m tired of all this complaining? Yeah, I feel you brother

I think that you guys underestimate a snipers body shot… It literally takes half the hp away from any class including fragger making a snipe to machine pistol a completely viable tactic for 1v1’s. Also sniping a character for a teammate to pick up the kill even with a body shot is HUGE even in competitive. I don’t understand why you feel that snipers are unreliable in competitive, I just view them as more of a defensive class than an offensive. Which is the way they should be. The insta gibs can instantly put you a man up which gives you an advantage for up to 23 seconds. Thats HUGE.

no reason to play vassilli while fragger’s nades exist

Anyone who isn’t admitting fragger’s strength right now is basically relying on his current OP state to perform well. Highest health, most lethal ability and arguably the best primary weapon all in one merc. He moves slower than the rest but he isn’t a slug, when you spawn in you’re not left gazing at your team mates turn to specks on the horizon, you’re simply a few yards behind a sawbonez. Once you get set in a position it’s almost impossible to lose it especially when you have a medic with you, the only way to really kill a fragger who is in a decent position is with another fragger’s nades or a sniper headshot; fragger to counter fragger is not good whatsoever and sniping issues were discussed by others.

Designating mercs health based on their movespeed seems stupid to me if you don’t even bother to consider their lethality.

If the other team’s medic are on point, it’s useless. Why use the auto when you can just field another fragger?

(Eox) #27

Maybe not, due to the higher amount of HP and the possibility to trigger his regen by himself. But something like 430 speed could be good enough.

Fragger is without a doubt the strongest, well, fragger right now. But he is also the only assault class so far. Even Vassili is technically a recon and has interesting utility function with his heartbeat sensor.

That doesn’t mean Fragger should roflstomp everybody else in a duel, and if that’s really how it is in competitive then sure, he’ll have to be put it in line. It doesn’t seem all that bad to me, but the tournament should make things a lot clearer.

In general I don’t see a problem if teams fall back to Fragger whenever they don’t have a need for more specialised classes. We do have a problem if teams don’t pick medics because adding more Fraggers would be more valuable, or they never add fire support or engineers even if the situation calls for it, simply because Fragger gets the job done better anyway. But aside from that, even if teams put in two or three Fraggers at times, that still seems perfectly acceptable to me.

Comparing Vassili directly to Fragger isn’t possible IMO. Even putting the utility function aside, snipers always have a special role in games that requires unique consideration and balance. Nothing should be taken for granted, even the basic question of whether we want Vassili in the meta or not.
