Clarification on CW consumer habits [mini-Survey addendum]

So to get a finer feel than @Faraleth mini-servey 71% not buying elite for CW loadouts and 29% yes, I decided to propose more options regarding that particular topic. Please chose the answer that most applies to you. For instance, if you are planning on buying some elite cases than consider that you already did at the time of the voting. Let’s find out together what effect the CW event had on our consumer habits. For accordance with the surveys this poll is was supposed to be anonymous as well, but it seems that the forum didn’t let me chose it or changed the option last second. Sorry about that.

I took the first option even if “in any form” isn’t correct as I bought the starter pack which came with 2 elite cases. But I won’t buy any cases for real money as long as it is a gamble.

there is just “yes” and “no”, no “maybe”, which is what i’d go for, but as of now, no, i wont be buying any cases anytime soon.

As I said, chose the closest option and you definitely chose right. I didn’t want to create a testament of poll options where people would get bored before they found their answer. And I still think it’s quite extensive already. Thanks for answering still!

This pool is more aimed at knowing what the current event did to change or not your habits. Since you’re still uncertain about future events, it just seems like your habits stayed unchanged from this even. So, the option you chose seems right to me.

Only problem with this poll is the fact that it’s only on the official forums :frowning: The results my be inconclusive in comparison to an entire user-base sample. So we may have to take it with a grain of salt D:

Also, I figured this choice is for those who have bought elite cases, but never the 10 pack before? xD That’s what I assumed anyway. :slight_smile:

To clarify mine: I bought $10 of cases once a while ago to send a little love the dev’s way. I didn’t really care about what I got from the cases. I won’t be throwing away $35 I could spend on a sushi night with my wife for cases that could drop shitty loadouts I won’t use anyway.

Edit: I should have put that I probably wouldn’t buy CW elite cases anyway because their case prices tend to be rather high for the RNG system. There wasn’t really an option in the poll that fit me.

Elite cases are just too expensive : 35 euros is not worth a random CW card IMO. I find expert cases to be a much better deal.

I’m a zealous f2p player, it’s been years since i spent money on games. So no, the equipmente cases are the only cases i purchase.

Please keep in mind that forum members are mostly core players. A lot of more casual players never come to the forums. So statistics from surveys may give skewed results.

I want to spend money, but damn SD know how to shut me off.

I’ve spent over 100 bucks on TF2, and considering my income, that’s a lot. And I still plan to spend more.

It doesn’t matter how many people complain about cosmetics ruining the game, because in truth they’ve done nothing but give use a way to support Valve and get things we like as well. It also helps show a little bit of dedication, and also with the new addition of “Campaigns” and campaign passes, another way to show our dedication to the game.

There are many things which DB could learn from other games. One thing I just realised is “Strange Weapons” or as many may know better, “Stattrak”

Nope. As long as there is any sort of RNG evolved, I will never buy cases. I don’t gamble in any way, never have and never will put my money on something that is up to chance and I can’t influence.
This is not even considering the fact that the prices are ridiculous. For 35eur here in germany, you would get 7 Super Doener Kebap, some decent headphones, a good microphone or about 2 weeks worth of lunch from the canteen.

Or many other good paying games for that matter. Three months of humble monthly, about a doyen games during steam sales, etc… It’s a lot of money for the guarantee of one type of skin but not even necessarily for a merc you own, nor if good or bad.

With the current loadout system being what it is, I will never spend real money on it.
We really need to separate cosmetic and loadouts.

I voted “never, never” but the reason is that I don’t see any point in worrying about cosmetics. There’s no camouflage bonus or gameplay adjustment from different loadouts other than the perks so it makes more sense to me to save some in-game credits and buy bronze loadouts which I want to use instead.

I might try trading up at some point given the number of lead loadouts I have but that’d only be a housekeeping exercise when I have credits to burn.

I’m happy to support the devs, bought the starter pack and a couple of other mercs with real money but frankly I see that as comparable with the amount I’ve paid for other games. I’d probably consider paying again for DLC if there’s enough content to warrant it, though that’d probably break the f2p model of the game.

You should try a Glasgow munchy box. About £5 when I lived up there and that picture is of a small one :wink:

Bought the 10 CW case bundle, got 3 CW cards, 2 worthless to me, but still rare and what not, just wanted to support the devs in all honesty, and the money came from csgo skins that were just gathering dust since the game is unplayable for me now. so win win for everyone.
