Clan Support Friendlist

(PapaBearFSM) #1

Hi, I dont find anything about it at the search function !

Will BRINK have a Clan support, I mean like al Freindslist and Clanlist like ETQW !

Hope it will be a good eSport Game, the last games from other Studios are useless !

STEAM supports such a feature, you can already create your own friend-list/clan.

“We’re working out the online services at the moment”

"Going forward for clan support and tournament support, it’s really high on our agenda. Three or four of our associate producers at the office are all ex-pro clan players; one from Return to Castle Wolfenstein for 4Kings, another from Tribes 1.

“So they’re just completely obsessed with that stuff. But we’ve got to get to beta first and have the gameplay solid before we worry too much about the tournament and the clan stuff.” Paul Wedgwood, Splash Damage

@potkettleblack… thx a lot !

@AnthonyDa… no I dont need or want this steamfriedn list, I prefere one like ETQW !

No problem PapaBearFSM.

On the topic of the actual friends-list stuff, I too prefer a system that works in game, something similar to the way Battlenet works. Even a slightly improved version of the way it worked in ETQW would suffice. But again just a personal preference.

I prefer being able to see who’s playing what, where and when without having to load the game up personally.

Why should u implement a chat system when u are using a platform which has a friendlist/chatsystem? Its pretty smart to use steam as a friendlist/chatsystem because then u dont have to do it and u can focus on much more important things.
But i liked the one in etqw, when they fix some strange bugs e.g. showing guys online who arent online or show them on a server, u click on join this server and u connect to a different one. so when they fix it, i think its ok.

Get used to it, kthxbye.

Why bother reinventing the wheel when steam can do this perfectly?

I it would be a waste of time that could be spent on improving the esports side of the game.

Although I prefer to use mirc/xfire/msn over steam any day!

I hate the situation , you buy a Game and MUST use Steam ?! The Friends and clanlist in ETQW was so cool, you can write with friedns and clanmates, see where they are playing. At Steam see everybody where you are planying you get dumb invites at a war or something else !

Pls dont use a second plattform !

there’s no ‘please don’t’ about it… it’s getting used, that’s confirmed and ain’t gonna change. I personally prefer it myself, can’t say ive ever been spammed with invites and find it easy to manage my friends… probably because I don’t add random unnecessary people for the hell of it.

Surely this could happen in ETQW aswell??

I hope they don’t bother with in game VOIP aswell and just stick with the stuff steam provides.

I’ve never used the in game VOIP provided by ETQW in all the time I’ve been playing it! Would prefer to use TS3/Vent any day!

In-game VOIP is included, but disabled by default.

VOIP in ETQW is one of the best VOIP implementation I’ve seen embedded in a videogame
